St Kilda
2. Steven King, 3. Jack Steven, 4. Clint Jones, 5. Ben McEvoy, 6. Zac Dawson, 11. Leigh Montagna, 12. Nick Riewoldt, 13. Adam Schneider, 14. Jarryn Geary, 15. Michael Gardiner, 18. Brendon Goddard, 19. Sam Gilbert, 20. David Armitage, 21. Nick Heyne, 22. Farren Ray, 23. Justin Koschitzke, 25. Sam Fisher, 27. Jason Blake, 28. Rhys Stanley, 30. Brett Peake, 32. Andrew McQualter, 33. James Gwilt, 36. Tommy Walsh, 37. Leigh Fisher, 38. Will Johnson, 39. Alistair Smith, 44. Stephen Milne, 45. Luke Miles, 49. Steven Gaertner
Watch out for:
David Armitage, he usually plays well in preseason games, but then can't find a spot in the St Kilda side during the season. This season it could be different without Ball there is a spot up for grabs.
Heyne, Peake and Steven will be trying to get a spot in the St Kilda round 1 team. Heyne may be the type of player the Saints need to bring something extra up forward, and he is also the cheapest in fantasy games of those Saints.
Some say Tommy Walsh is physically ready for the AFL, but still has a lot to do with using the football. At his low fantasy price he just needs to play a few games during the season to financially help fantasy teams.
Collingwood
1. Leon Davis, 3. John McCarthy , 4. Alan Didak, 5. Nick Maxwell, 6. Tyson Goldsack, 7. Paul Medhurst, 8. Harry O’Brien, 10. Scott Pendlebury, 11. Shane O’Bree, 12. Luke Ball, 13. Dale Thomas, 15. Leigh Brown, 16. Nathan Brown, 17. Dayne Beams, 18. Darren Jolly, 19. Cameron Wood, 20. Ben Reid, 21. Sharrod Wellingham, 22. Steele Sidebottom, 24. Tarkyn Lockyer, 26. Ben Johnson, 30. Brent Macaffer, 31. Chris Dawes, 32. Travis Cloke, 34. Alan Toovey, 35. Simon Prestigiacomo, 36. Dane Swan, 39. Heath Shaw, 41. Simon Buckley
Watch out for:
Darren Jolly, this game won't give an exact indication of how Collingwood will use their tall players but it will show fantasy coaches if Jolly is fitting in with his new club.
He was a big disappointment for fantasy teams last year, but Paul Medhurst is back and free of injury and someone who could be at a bargain fantasy price if they get back to the stats of a couple of years ago.
There is a position battle at Collingwood with maybe one spot for L Brown, N Brown, Reid and Dawes. Sidebottom and Beams were very useful for fantasy teams in 2009, Sidebottom is the better choice this time when prices are compared. Ball could be someone that fantasy coaches want to sign, if he performs well in what has to be a big game for him then he could be an undervalued fantasy player to get. Buckley is also a new Magpie, he does have the ability to bring in a lot of stats, but there may not be an open spot at Collingwood for him to step into. Although if H Shaw does play a lot more in the midfield this year, maybe there is a spot for Buckley.
