Projected Stats 2010 - Supercoach and Dream Team

Adelaide

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

Tony Armstrong

2009 regular season games: 0

Unlikely to ever be as well-known as Neil or Lance, but Tony Armstrong could play a few games for the Crows this year. One of the options the Crows have to bring more run to their side, fantasy coaches may want to wait a couple of games when that happens to think about trading for him, probably not someone to have on round 1 fantasy rosters.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 5h, 12p, 3m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Nathan Bock

2009 regular season games: 14

For several seasons he was considered to be one of the very best fantasy defenders, but last year he messed things up for fantasy teams with a club-imposed indefinite suspension, that surprisingly lasted just one week, and then with a few injuries. He should bounce back, with his usual roaming around half back accumulating marks and possessions, but there are reasons to be cautious.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 9h, 23p, 7m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brett Burton

2009 regular season games: 5

The days of him running up the field may be over, if they try to conserve his legs and keep him free of injury, but he could still be beneficial to fantasy teams as the sidekick to Tippett up forward. In SuperCoach, a few contested marks and goals could help Burton's value go up. There is also the chance that the Crows do just let him run, and that would see his possessions numbers go up a lot.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 3h, 10p, 4m. 30 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Myke Cook

2009 regular season games: 3

Midfield depth for the list, but there is a chance he plays more in 2009, which may depend on other Crows getting hurt or suspended.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 6h, 12p, 4m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

James Craig

Considered to be one of the better talls in the draft but had a bit of a draft slide, as he was a junior ruckman but without ruck size for the AFL. The Crows probably don't look to play him this year.

Patrick Dangerfield

2009 regular season games: 19

The "prototype", as the Crows like to think of him, has steadily improved and can continue to increase his numbers for a few more seasons. Eligible as a forward and midfielder in fantasy, and at a good price, he could help fantasy teams a lot. Last year he spent a lot of time leading from full forward, which isn't his best spot. He should have a lot more playing time in the middle this year, and that will be why his stats and fantasy value are up.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 9h, 16p, 4m. 30 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!!

Phil Davis

2009 regular season games: 0

Davis, and the fantasy coaches who signed him last year, may not have been happy that he didn't play in the AFL but that makes him a fantasy player of great potential, at a very low price, this time. Seems like the right player for Otten's role in the back line, playing on the third or fourth tall forward and also being allowed to go after the football.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 7h, 16p, 4m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Michael Doughty

2009 regular season games: 22

Another part of the Adelaide machine, does his job every game and is solid for stats. Unlikely to increase his numbers at this point of his career.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 10h, 20p, 5m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Richard Douglas

2009 regular season games: 17

Not given the big roles by his coach yet, so his stats are not great. With three or four older players who could have lesser roles, or retire, there is a chance that Douglas improves.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 8h, 15p, 4m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Tyson Edwards

2009 regular season games: 20

Age is a reason why his stats could go down, although if the Crows use him up forward he could kick a few more goals. Gave away a lot more free kicks than he received, so that could indicate he is slowing down and can't run as he used to.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 9h, 20p, 5m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Simon Goodwin

2009 regular season games: 19

Had a lot of the ball in the back line for the Crows last season. He could do it again, but he is also a bit of a risk with his age.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 12h, 22p, 5m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Jonathon Griffin

2009 regular season games: 2

There isn't a lot between starting in the ruck for the Crows and being the fourth or fifth ruckman on their list. At his best, he is an athletic ruckman who can outrun his opponent and take a contested mark up forward, and if he can do that again he will become a popular fantasy player. But right now the Crows may not think he is in their best side.

Projected 2010 Statistics
3k, 5h, 8p, 4m, 14ho. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jack Gunston

If the Crows are playing him in 2010 it will mean things did not go according to plan. So you won't want him on your fantasy teams this year.

Trent Hentschel

2009 regular season games: 5

Returned from injury, and was used in a couple of very different roles. Did kick a few goals when up forward, but the stats seemed to add up quicker when he was a loose player in the back line.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 5h, 13p, 3m. 28 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jarrhan Jacky

2009 regular season games: 0

Might play a few games in 2010, as the Crows look for a quicker player or two to add to their lineup.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 3h, 9p,1 m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Graham Johncock

2009 regular season games: 20

An inconsistent player, sometimes among the very best fantasy defenders, and other times is not able to produce.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 10h, 22p, 6m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same!

Chris Knights

2009 regular season games: 18

He shoots, he scores. Is the new Stuart Dew, kicking long goals. Knights can increase his possessions totals, so he could be a good fantasy signing in 2010. As a fantasy forward, he can also help fantasy teams by being another midfield-type in a non-midfield fantasy position. May not be there in round 1, and could be a trade option in the first half of the season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 9h, 20p, 5m. 45 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

David Mackay

2009 regular season games: 18

Quietly goes about his business as an outside midfielder there. Might have the potential for more stats, if given Edwards' role.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 11h, 20p, 4m. 10 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ivan Maric

2009 regular season games: 18

He might still be their number 1 ruckman, but there are plenty of contenders for the spot. Maric is a cheap fantasy ruckman so if you want to save money, but still have a player who is healthy and playing, then maybe he can help.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 7h, 11p, 3m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brodie Martin

Might be able to play a few games late in the 2010 season as he is recovering from a knee reconstruction.

Shaun McKernan

2009 regular season games: 1

Might have played a lot more at another club, but should still show some progress this year with the Crows. A few injuries could open up a lot of playing time.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 3h, 9p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Andrew McLeod

2009 regular season games: 22

Another veteran Crow who could be a risk due to their age. He can still produce some big fantasy games, maybe not as many as he used to.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 8h, 20p, 3m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Brad Moran

2009 regular season games: 7

If fit, and in the team, he could be the Adelaide ruckman that does the most for fantasy teams. As a ruckman he can cover a lot of ground, and he has also been useful when sent forward by the Crows.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 12h, 16p, 4m, 15ho. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Andy Otten

Great for fantasy teams in 2009, but is not an option this time as he is out with a knee injury. So pencil him in for 2011 fantasy teams.

Jared Petrenko

2009 regular season games: 9

The Crows have been looking for a small player to step up and fill a regular role for the team and Petrenko provided that at times last year. As they didn't trade or draft any smalls, he could also see some action this year.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 5h, 11p, 2m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jason Porplyzia

2009 regular season games: 22

The Porpoise has been a fantasy AFL favourite for several seasons, but he may not yet have hit his peak for stats. He gets goals and tackles, and if he can get a few more easy possessions in the midfield as well it could boost his fantasy numbers.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 7h, 16p, 4m. 50 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brent Reilly

2009 regular season games: 18

Last year he had a price that made him a potential fantasy bargain, this year there isn't a lot of incentive to sign him up. Another Crow that does his job for the coach there but is lacking in fantasy upside.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 8h, 18p, m. goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ben Rutten

2009 regular season games: 22

You don't want to sign full backs for fantasy teams. Rutten does get involved a bit with moving the ball out of the back line, but not enough to overlook other fantasy defenders to sign him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 8h, 14p, 5m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

James Sellar

2009 regular season games: 9

Didn't do a lot wrong as the backup for Maric, for what the Crows wanted him to do, but for fantasy teams he was not very useful. Sellar provided little in the stats department. The backup ruck spot at the Crows is crowded, so Sellar isn't assured of regular games in 2010. He could be the backup for Rutten at full back, so if something happens to Rutten and he misses a bunch of games it could mean Sellar plays a lot in that spot.

Projected 2010 Statistics
3k, 7h, 10p, 3m, 7ho. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Sam Shaw
One of many talls they have added to their list, unlikely to play this year.

Rory Sloane

2009 regular season games: 1

If the Crows are looking a bit slow and old they may turn to Sloane and he could produce solid stats, with possessions and tackles.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 7h, 11p, 3m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Scott Stevens

2009 regular season games: 20

A problem solver for the Crows, they put him where they have a need, forward or back. Last year, it was more in the back line. While he probably will be a solid player, he may need an injury to another tall there to increase his role and make him someone that fantasy coaches want again.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 5m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brad Symes

2009 regular season games: 18

Been all over the place for fantasy AFL, sometimes he is great for fantasy teams and other times he should be avoided. At his best he can run free and accumulate a lot of the ball. For someone in his role, can also get a few hitouts, which can add a few Dream Team points.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 11h, 20p, 5m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Daniel Talia

Their first round pick, but they may not have a spot for him if everyone stays healthy.

Scott Thompson

2009 regular season games: 21

Seemed to drop in production last season, although he was still among the top fantasy onballers. He can kick goals, and maybe provides a few more in 2010.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 14h, 26p, 5m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Kurt Tippett

2009 regular season games: 22

Produced for the Crows, and fantasy teams, last year when he was playing for a new contract. Can continue to improve, and at his height there are few full backs that can contain him. The Crows have to decide if he will stay at full forward for the entire game, or have a few minutes in the ruck as well, they might want to keep him forward and that could increase his goals.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 4h, 12p, 5m, 8ho. 65 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Nathan van Berlo

2009 regular season games: 21

A solid player but fantasy coaches are expecting him to play at a higher level for stats. Needs to kick the ball a bit more, and that will help his fantasy points.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 13h, 23p, 5m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Bernie Vince

2009 regular season games: 22

Has become a great fantasy player as he accumulates so much of the ball. There is a chance he increases his goals and tackles, which would make him even better for fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
15k, 13h, 28p, 7m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Taylor Walker

2009 regular season games: 14

Is yet to be really unleashed by the coach there, when he did play it was often off the bench. Could get more playing time this season, it just depends on how tall they go up forward.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 2h, 9p, 5m. 35 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Will Young

Will Will Young play in 2010, it is very unlikely so he is not someone to have as an investment on a fantasy bench.

Rookies

Brian Donnelly

Don't expect to have Donnelly, or any Crow rookie, on your fantasy team. Donnelly, from Ireland, is being brought along gradually and may be a medium forward for them in the future.

Ricky Henderson

If this was fantasy baseball, Henderson would be a steal. He may have an edge over most of the other rookies at Adelaide, at playing a game soon, having been there longer. He could be someone they use in Burton's role in the future.

Matthew Jaensch

A midfielder or forward, not that the Crows have a vacancy in either position.

Aidan Riley

If they can't find games for Taylor Walker, then this NSW recruit has no chance of playing this year.

Chris Schmidt

If you wanted to pick the Adelaide rookie with the best chance of a game, maybe it is Schmidt.

Luke Thompson

Most of their draft picks the last two seasons went on talls, and Thompson is behind them and the rest of the Adelaide talls on the depth chart.

Matthew Wright

Could put up some solid stats if he played AFL, but the Crows won't need to do that in 2010 unless a bunch of retirements and injuries hit the list.

New
James Craig, Jack Gunston, Brodie Martin (elevated rookie), Sam Shaw, Daniel Talia
Rookie List: Matthew Jaensch, Aidan Riley, Luke Thompson, Matthew Wright

Gone

Brisbane

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

Jed Adcock

2009 regular season games: 15

Has been a bargain, a bust, and a bargain again in recent seasons, and may cost to much to sign this year and expect him to make money.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 9h, 18p, 4m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Matt Austin

Just depth for the Lions' list right now, and wouldn't be expected to do a lot in fantasy AFL this season. Several of the veterans that the Lions traded for play the same position as Austin.

Todd Banfield

A lot of the younger Brisbane onballers are the strong, inside type while Banfield could give them more outside run, that could mean the Lions turn to him during the season if they want some more pace.

Callum Bartlett

Considered to be a highly-rated prospect who has battled injury, Brisbane probably drafted him for the future and won't rush him into the action in 2010.

Simon Black

2009 regular season games: 21

Should continue with his usual stats, although a slight decrease in numbers is a possibility at this point in his career.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 13h, 24p, 3m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jared Brennan

2009 regular season games: 18

They won't need him up forward or in the ruck as much as they have in recent years, that should allow Brennan to settle into a role of being a mismatch for opponents in the midfield. Playing in the middle, he should get plenty of possessions and could increase his marks totals as he will be playing against shorter opponents.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 10h, 20p, 5m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jonathan Brown

2009 regular season games: 22

If he can kick a lot of goals with Bradshaw there, he can still kick a lot with Fevola playing for Brisbane.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 4h, 16p, 8m. 75 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Amon Buchanan

2009 regular season games: 8

The Lions traded for him so that means they wanted him and had a role ready for him to step into, probably. Should play a lot more games than he did last year for Sydney.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 8h, 16p, 4m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Jamie Charman

2009 regular season games: 3

Used to be their top ruckman, may now be their third ruckman and won't be guaranteed to play many games.

Projected 2010 Statistics
3k, 5h, 8p, 3m, 10ho. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Mitchell Clark

2009 regular season games: 22

There were times last year when he ran himself to the point of exhaustion, this year his minutes and stats could dip a bit as he will have help in the ruck.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 7h, 14p, 5m, 17ho. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Xavier Clarke

Injured at St Kilda but found a new club in Brisbane. Might be someone fantasy coaches think about later in the season, if he plays well for Brisbane, as he does have a discounted fantasy price.

Tom Collier

With Roe, Henderson and Macdonald moving along it does get Collier closer to a regular game.

Aaron Cornelius

Would seem to be a forward, but there won't be a spot for him this year. The Lions have tried him in the back line, with mixed results.

Josh Drummond

2009 regular season games: 18

One of the best kicks in the AFL make him one of the top fantasy defenders, especially in SuperCoach where his long, accurate kicks bring in plenty of fantasy points. But fantasy coaches are also aware, that he can miss a game every now and then with a leg injury.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 6h, 19p, 5m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brendan Fevola

2009 regular season games: 22

He probably wins more games at his new AFL club, but he isn't the main target now and will have to defer to Brown.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 2h, 11p, 5m. 70 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Pearce Hanley

They don't have a spot for him in the team right now.

Ryan Harwood

The Lions played a lot of young onballers last year, which means they are happy to try youth or it means they did have available spots but they have now been filled by Rich, Redden, Sheldon and a few others.

James Hawksley

Depth player who won't get regular games.

Travis Johnstone

2009 regular season games: 14

Can be a bit inconsistent, and does look disinterested at times, but the stats do add up. Many fantasy coaches will probably avoid him, some due to his unreliable stats and others because Johnstone can look like a member of ZZ-Top.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 8h, 20p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Matthew Leuenberger

2009 regular season games: 3

It is hard for fantasy coaches to pick from the Brisbane ruckmen before Coach Voss picks who he is playing. Leuenberger is ready for a big year, if he gets the minutes.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 7h, 12p, 3m, 15ho. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Matt Maguire

Is certainly a cheap fantasy player, due to having played few games in recent seasons. The Lions probably don't want to have both Merrett and Maguire in the back line, so Maguire may not play unless Merrett is out.

Bart McCulloch

A project ruckman or key position player, still a few years away. Like most talls there, was injured last year.

Ashley McGrath

2009 regular season games: 22

Is a solid player for the Lions but doesn't bring real value to fantasy AFL teams at the moment, he isn't a big star and he isn't a bargain.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 7h, 16p, 5m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Daniel Merrett

2009 regular season games: 17

A powerful full back who won't be running up the ground to get stats, so he isn't on many fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 5h, 10p, 4m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jesse O'Brien

Not expected to play AFL football this year.

Joel Patfull

2009 regular season games: 18

A reliable and versatile defender for Brisbane, unlikely to bring in a lot of fantasy points.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

James Polkinghorne

2009 regular season games: 18

Played well for Brisbane when used up forward and in the middle, will probably be asked to play a greater role this season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Luke Power

2009 regular season games: 22

The Lions brought in some veteran help, and also expect their younger players to step up to do a bit more, and that could mean Power drops a few possessions per game.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 11h, 22p, 4m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Albert Proud

Might be lucky to still be on the list there, hasn't been lucky for fantasy teams so far in his career.

Andrew Raines

2009 regular season games: 3

Has to establish himself in the Brisbane back line, and if he does that he could be someone that fantasy teams want. He runs hard and gets involved in the play, sometimes handballing a bit too much.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 9h, 17p, 3m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Jack Redden

2009 regular season games: 8

Another draft success by the Lions, he arrived at AFL level ready to contribute. Has the potential to increase his stats in 2010.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 7h, 15p, 4m. 12 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Bryce Retzlaff

A long-term project player who was just drafted, so don't expect any games from him for a while.

Daniel Rich

2009 regular season games: 22

It will not be easy to improve on his great 2009 season, but Rich should be able to do a bit more for stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 8h, 20p, 3m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Michael Rischitelli

2009 regular season games: 22

The Lions considered him to be expendable during trade week, and may not be planning for him to have a big role this season. Rischitelli could lose time in the middle as Rich, Redden and other younger players take on bigger roles. Rischitelli could find himself alongside Stiller and T Selwood, in a group of Lions not guaranteed a spot in the side and sometimes being used in negative midfield roles, which would not bring in stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 7h, 14p, 3m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down.

Tom Rockliff

In Under 18 games he kicked a lot of goals and was often the primary forward option, at AFL level he is being developed for a different role and may play some games for the Lions as a crumbing forward or a midfielder.

Troy Selwood

2009 regular season games: 10

Is now the least useful Selwood for fantasy teams, as he isn't selected by the Lions every week and when he does play it can be in tagging roles.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 7h, 12p, 3m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Sam Sheldon

2009 regular season games: 17

Was a low-cost fantasy player last year, and once added to the Brisbane side he stayed there, which was great for the fantasy teams who brought him in after he played a game or two. This season, he may not have a bigger role, it might depend on injuries to older players there.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 3m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Justin Sherman

2009 regular season games: 22

Has developed into a player that does everything, and fantasy coaches can expect possessions, goals and tackles.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 11h, 21p, 4m. 33 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009:

Brent Staker

2009 regular season games: 6

Has always been a versatile player with a lot of fantasy potential, but it hasn't come together yet. Could find a spot as Brisbane's third tall forward, taking marks up on the wing and then kicking the ball in to Brown and Fevola.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Cheynee Stiller

2009 regular season games: 21

Might not play as many games this season as he did in 2009 as the Lions have other optiosn for his spot. He does have the ability to be an outside midfielder with plenty of possessions, but hasn't been used that way by the Lions for several seasons.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 4m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down.

Rookies

Claye Beams

The Lions have two veteran players so only injuries will open up a spot for a rookie early in the season. They probably won't play any rookies, but Beams may be ahead of the other players on the rookie list. Fantasy coaches know his brother can play, Dayne Beams was very good for fantasy teams last year.

Josh Dyson

Might be a bit small at the moment for AFL, and the Lions can develop him for a year or two.

Mitchell Golby

Has been injured, so he isn't close to a game at AFL level.

Broc McCauley

Might be an option as a 4th fantasy ruckman, considering how often the other ruckmen at Brisbane can get injured.

Niall McKeever

"MacGyver" could be a project player that Brisbane can develop into a star but that might be a few years away.

Sean Yoshiura

Has great running ability, but unlikely to show it at AFL level for several seasons.

New
Callum Bartlett, Amon Buchanan, Xavier Clarke, Brendan Fevola, Pearce Hanley (elevated rookie), Ryan Harwood, Matt Maguire, Jesse O'Brien, Andrew Raines, Bryce Retzlaff, Brent Staker

Carlton

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

Joe Anderson

2009 regular season games: 3

There could be a spot in the back line for a player like him at Carlton, but there are many players competing for it.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 9h, 14p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Dennis Armfield

2009 regular season games: 16

Probably in the AFL one week, the VFL the next, so unless he secures a regular spot he won't help fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 8h, 14p, 3m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Mark Austin

With Waite healthy and Henderson added to the team, the Blues probably won't need to use Austin.

Eddie Betts

2009 regular season games: 21

Not exactly doing what is needed at Carlton in the post-Fevola era, he may be a player to avoid. There isn't spot for him in the middle, so there is little chance of his numbers improving.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 4h, 11p, 3m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Paul Bower

2009 regular season games: 20

A tall defender who doesn't play tall, which is good for fantasy points as he has a lot of the ball.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 11h, 20p, 6m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Steven Browne

2009 regular season games: 7

Can provide a spark for the team, but could need injuries to other Blues to open a spot.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 8h, 15p, 4m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Andrew Carrazzo

2009 regular season games: 14

Took a while to get going last season, he could start 2010 with some big games as Judd's numbers will be available.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 11h, 24p, 4m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Marcus Davies

Drafted as a midfielder or small defender, Carlton don't have a vacancy in those positions so Davies won't be helping fantasy teams.

Brad Fisher

This was going to be his year, with a bigger role up forward, but a knee injury means he won't play.

Bryce Gibbs

2009 regular season games: 22

Can still do more for stats, there is no reason why he can't kick a few more goals.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 13h, 27p, 6m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Shaun Grigg

2009 regular season games: 9

Had a chance for a breakout season in 2009 but it didn't happen, it is still possible for 2010 but McLean and Lucas are there too so midfield minutes for Grigg will be difficult to get.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 9h, 18p, 4m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Richard Hadley

2009 regular season games: 11

There will probably be at least one player at Carlton who has three big games to start the season, when Judd is out, and then sees their role diminish in the next few weeks and eventually lands in the VFL for a while. Maybe that happens to Hadley, so be careful if he does star early because you may not want to trade for him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 9h, 16p, 4m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Shaun Hampson

2009 regular season games: 14

There may not be room for him in the side if Kreuzer, Warnock and their other talls stay healthy. Although if Kreuzer stars at full forward, then Hampson could be getting ruck minutes.

Projected 2010 Statistics
2k, 6h, 8p, 3m, 14ho. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Lachlan Henderson

2009 regular season games: 7

Might be the big body at centre half back that they are looking for, and The Henderson Kid should have a much bigger role than he did at the Lions.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 7h, 15p, 6m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Ryan Houlihan

2009 regular season games: 19

Plays a very selfish game but that can help the fantasy points add up.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 8h, 16p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Sam Jacobs

A good player on the list there for ruck depth, but if Kreuzer, Warnock and Hampson are healthy then Jacobs won't be in the AFL.

Aaron Joseph

2009 regular season games: 22

A money-maker a year ago, not someone to have in fantasy AFL this time. Plays the annoying tagger role very well, and that doesn't bring in fantasy points.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 7h, 12p, 2m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Michael Jamison

2009 regular season games: 13

A full back that won't get the stats to be a fantasy team option.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 4h, 9p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Chris Johnson

2009 regular season games: 10

Among a group of players competing for a small number of available spots in the midfield and as a running defender. Was reportedly recruited to bring some calm and kicking skills to their back line, and they still need that, so there is a chance he plays more than expected and could produce for fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 6h, 15p, 4m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Chris Judd

2009 regular season games: 22

has been one of the more popular fantasy players but won't be this year, he misses the early rounds with suspension.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 12h, 25p, 3m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Rohan Kerr

Unless a bunch of players are injured or suspended, which may actually be a possibility at that club, Kerr will be in the VFL for 2010.

Matthew Kreuzer

2009 regular season games: 22

The fundamental young star of the AFL, he does everything right. Gets more frees than he gives away, which can be difficult for a ruckman. His tackles totals can be much higher than many of his smaller teammates. He is also a good kick for goal, and he is expected to be lining up for goal a lot more this season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 8h, 15p, 4m, 14ho. 44 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Kane Lucas

2009 regular season games: 0

Would be guaranteed to play a lot more at several other AFL clubs, although Carlton didn't take him in the first round to keep him hidden in the VFL.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 3m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Brock McLean

2009 regular season games: 19

Should have similar numbers to what Stevens had at Carlton last season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 11h, 23p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Marc Murphy

2009 regular season games: 22

Could be brought along slowly for a few games, as he is recovering from injury and has missed the preseason games. So maybe he isn't someone to have on a fantasy team for round 1.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 14h, 28p, 5m. 28 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Setanta O'hAilpin

2009 regular season games: 12

There is talk that he will be their centre half forward, so he could increase his stats and kick a lot more goals.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 4h, 10p, 5m. 25 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Rhys O'Keeffe

Carlton don't have a plethora of old players who could retire, so O'Keeffe will be waiting quite a while to get into the team.

Mitch Robinson

2009 regular season games: 10

Probably spends a lot of time as a small forward, and he won't have the chacne to make the money he did last year for fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 4m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jordan Russell

2009 regular season games: 19

Found a new role last season as he played in the back line a bit as other defenders were out. That role may not be available for him this time.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 4m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Heath Scotland

2009 regular season games: 16

Hard to see him increasing his numbers, and they could start to decrease.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 11h, 20p, 4m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Kade Simpson

2009 regular season games: 22

Gets into space on the wing and has plenty of the ball, mostly uncontested though.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 9h, 21p, 6m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Bret Thornton

2009 regular season games: 20

Seems to be someone who may have himself on a fantasy team, he can get a lot of easy marks and possessions in the back line, and the addition of Henderson and a return to fitness by Jamison should mean he doesn't have to play on the power forwards which will mean more time for easy stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 8h, 18p, 7m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Caleb Tiller

He was drafted for the future and that is still a year or two away.

Jarrad Waite

2009 regular season games: 9

Assuming he is a forward, contested marks and goals will take a big jump.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 4h, 14p, 5m. 44 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Andrew Walker

2009 regular season games: 5

Seems to have the game to average over 20 possessions but doesn't do it enough, and fantasy coaches will also think about his injury problems. But for some his low price in fantasy games will be something they want.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 8h, 18p, 5m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Robert Warnock

2009 regular season games: 0

Carlton have struggled to get hitouts ever since Madden retired, so they need Warnock out on the field.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 7h, 12p, 3m, 15ho. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Simon Wiggins

Undersized marking player who may not play now that Henderson has arrived and Kreuzer has been sent forward. But there is a chance that Carlton go with Wiggins if things don't work up forward, although Wiggins wouldn't be someone fantasy coaches would want to sign even if he did play.

Chris Yarran

2009 regular season games: 6

A very high draft pick, Carlton probably have him in the side every game this year. Everything is in place for him to have a big year for fantasy points, he probably takes advantage of the extra playing time and a much bigger role up forward.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 4h, 12p, 3m. 20 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Rookies

Jaryd Cachia

A few injuries and he could be playing at AFL level. Carlton will be able to play three rookies, if they want to, so fantasy coaches will want to see who they are talking about.

Levi Casboult

A name everyone knows, but fantasy coaches know there are too many players ahead of him for his position at Carlton for him to do anything this season.

Joseph Dare

Had a draft slide, all the way out of the draft and ended up at Carlton in the rookie draft. There is a chance that he does play this season, if Carlton struggle and have some injuries at half back, so he could be someone who is traded for later in the year.

Josh Donaldson

A tall who will take a while to develop.

David Ellard

Has played for them at AFL level before, but his price is back to a low level due to 0 games in 2009. A small forward option for them.

Jeff Garlett

A rookie player who will play AFL games in 2010, but not someone at the rookie price so he won't be on many fantasy teams to start the season.

Zach Tuohy

Probably a few years away.

Simon White

Might play if injuries hit Carlton's tall and medium defenders.

Collingwood

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

John Anthony

2009 regular season games: 21

Should still be a good player for Collingwood up forward, but for fantasy teams there would be the worry that Fraser spending more time up forward could take some shots at goal away from Anthony.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 4h, 10p, 5m. 40 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Luke Ball

2009 regular season games: 17

Should see a slight improvement in all his stats after joining a new club.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 12h, 21p, 3m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Jaxson Barham

He can run fast, and he can also miss a lot of targets with his kicks. If he does play for Collingwood, he is more of a Dream Team player than one for SuperCoach.

Dayne Beams

2009 regular season games: 16

Might find it hard to increase his stats, as Collingwood have Ball to play and Medhurst could be playing a bigger role than he did last year.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 9h, 17p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jarrad Blight

A player with the right game to help fantasy teams, but he doesn't have an opportunity at Collingwood right now.

Leigh Brown

The arrival of Jolly ends L Brown's ruck minutes, and as Fraser will probably spend more time up forward they won't have a spot for Brown there as well. That leaves the back line, where he could play a few games.

Nathan J. Brown

2009 regular season games: 14

Could be in the back line against the second or third forward, or at full back if Prestigiacomo misses games.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 6h, 10p, 3m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Simon Buckley

Could help fantasy teams, but he first needs to get a regular spot in the deep Collingwood side.

Travis Cloke

2009 regular season games: 19

Was not at his best for season 2009, should be able to bring in more stats this season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 4h, 16p, 7m. 33 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Ryan Cook

Still on the list, but has been passed by young players Sidebottom and Beams for a midfield spot.

Anthony Corrie

Depth on their list, may only play an occasional game.

Leon Davis

2009 regular season games: 20

In all fantasy games, kicking the ball brings in more fantasy points than handballing, that is what makes Davis a fantasy star, a great kick to handball ratio. He also adds goals and tackles.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 6h, 20p, 5m. 30 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Chris Dawes

2009 regular season games: 4

A player with a lot of potential and one of several choices they have for centre half back.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 6h, 12p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Brad Dick

2009 regular season games: 14

If he gets increased playing time, he could put up numbers that are nearly as good as Medhurst or even Davis.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 5h, 13p, 3m. 25 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Alan Didak

2009 regular season games: 17

Plenty of kicks and goals.

Projected 2010 Statistics
16k, 7h, 23p, 5m. 25 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Josh Fraser

2009 regular season games: 16

Has a different role now with Jolly arriving, could still produce a similar amount of fantasy points as he should be kicking more goals.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 6h, 16p, 5m, 10ho. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Tyson Goldsack

2009 regular season games: 10

Versatile member of the Collingwood back line, probably not a lot to offer fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 5h, 12p, 3m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ben Johnson

2009 regular season games: 11

Was often a player thought to be better for Dream Teams than SuperCoach sides, but his kicking doesn't seem as awry as it once was. But he could see a few less minutes, as the Magpies adjust their midfield rotation.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 8h, 18p, 3m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down.

Darren Jolly

2009 regular season games: 22

Could bring the same stats he had at Sydney or may do a little bit less, he has Fraser as his teammate now and he will take more of the ruck minutes than the young ruckman that Sydney had backing up Jolly last year.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 6h, 12p, 4m, 22ho. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down.

Tarkyn Lockyer

2009 regular season games: 22

Might be getting to the part of his career where he slows down a bit, but still a solid fantasy player due to his kicking skills. Collingwood never seem sure for where he will play, but he can get fantasy stats as a forward, defender or in the middle.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 8h, 19p, 5m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down.

Brent Macaffer

He can kick goals, but may not play unless several of their star small forwards are out hurt.

Nick Maxwell

2009 regular season games: 20

A solid player but unlikely to suddenly do more for stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 8h, 17p, 6m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

John McCarthy

Could find it difficult to get a regular game, but he does have potential for fantasy stats.

Paul Medhurst

2009 regular season games: 16

May have been held back by injury and will bring in better stats this time, another Collingwood player with a great kick to handball ratio.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 5h, 15p, 6m. 40 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Shane O'Bree

2009 regular season games: 22

Ball's arrival has to impact his stats, but O'Bree will still see plenty of time in the middle and will produce a lot of tackles.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 11h, 18p, 2m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down.

Harry O'Brien

2009 regular season games: 22

Can be used by Collingwood on many types of forwards, a useful player in fantasy AFL but his stats won't go up suddenly.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 7h, 16p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Scott Pendlebury

2009 regular season games: 19

It can be a worry for fantasy coaches when they see their player starting the AFL game on the bench, but with Pendlebury it doesn't matter, his numbers are always high.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 13h, 26p, 5m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Simon Prestigiacomo

2009 regular season games: 22

Everybody knows that unless spoils are counted in fantasy games he will never be a player to have.

Projected 2010 Statistics
3k, 5h, 8p, 3m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ben Reid

2009 regular season games: 2

This could be the year he is a fantasy steal, if he gets a regular spot in their back line.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 4h, 10p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Luke Rounds

Not expected to play many, or maybe not any, games in 2010.

Sean Rusling

Healthy now, but may need to wait for injuries to Anthony and other forwards before he plays. He is cheap, but probably not cheap enough to be an investment on the fantasy bench. If he does play for Collingwood, evaluate him for a couple of games as he could be someone to trade for during the season.

Heath Shaw

2009 regular season games: 18

Teams were sending a forward with the task of tagging Shaw and that did sometimes hurt his stats but he has either improved his workrate and players can't slow him down as much or teams have other Collingwood players they need to stop ahead of Shaw.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 7h, 21p, 6m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Steele Sidebottom

2009 regular season games: 8

Should play more games in 2010, but may not get the big minutes unless a few Collingwood smalls are out.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 8h, 16p, 4m. 12 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ben Sinclair

Wouldn't be expected to play in season 2010.

Dane Swan

2009 regular season games: 22

Not only are his stats very high, but he doesn't miss games.

Projected 2010 Statistics
16k, 13h, 29p, 6m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Dale Thomas

2009 regular season games: 19

Probably has the same role, which will mean some exciting goals and marks, but for fantasy AFL the only way he may suddenly increase his numbers is if they move him to half back where he could have a lot more of the ball, that did experiment with that a year ago in the preseason games.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 7h, 17p, 5m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Josh Thomas

A late draft pick, the Magpies won't have a reason to rush him into the side.

Alan Toovey

2009 regular season games: 21

Definitely someone better for Dream Team, not the best kick around.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 6h, 12p, 3m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down.

Sharrod Wellingham

2009 regular season games: 14

Should provide similar numbers to last season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 8h, 16p, 3m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Cameron Wood

2009 regular season games: 11

Has size and talent but with Jolly and Fraser there he may spend most of his time in the VFL.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 6h, 10p, 3m, 9ho. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Rookies

Jarryd Blair

Could rise in price quickly if the Magpies played him, but they won't need rookies as nearly everyone is healthy there and as they have two veteran players they can't nominate a rookie to be available to play senior football.

Jack Carter

A tall player who is an investment for the future at Collingwood.

Tristan Francis

Midfield depth for the Magpies, won't be needed unless many players are out.

Tom Hunter

Collingwood already have too many small forwards, so Hunter is far from a game.

Lachlan Keeffe

The Magpies have good ruckmen, but not good ruck depth. Ruckmen do get hurt, so if several go down that could mean they look to play Keeffe.

Seamus McNamara

A long-term project, but he has one needed attribute already as you can't teach size. He will need to be taught various skills but in a few years could make an impact.

Scott Reed

A versatile player who is still developing in their VFL team.

New
Luke Ball, Simon Buckley, Darren Jolly, Ben Sinclair, Josh Thomas
Rookie List: Jack Carter, Tom Hunter, Seamus McNamara

Gone
Chris Bryan, Martin Clarke, Shannon Cox, Anthony Rocca, Danny Stanley

Essendon

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

Jarrod Atkinson

2009 regular season games: 4

A solid player for the Bombers when they use him, but along with many other Bombers you can't be sure if they will be playing in the AFL or VFL as they are a team with a lot of players even in talent.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 8h, 15p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Tom Bellchambers

2009 regular season games: 6

A good player for Essendon's list and does an adequate job in the ruck for the Bombers if Ryder and Hille are out, in fantasy leagues he is cheap but unless you have another Bomber ruckman as a starter then it may not make sense to have Bellchambers as a fantasy reserve.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 4h, 8p, 3m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jake Carlisle

Height, mobility and versatility should make him a fantasy AFL star in the future, but he may not get a game this year.

Travis Colyer

A speedy player who was recently drafted, the Bombers won't need to rush him into the side this season.

Darcy Daniher

Pears, Hooker, Hurley and Gumbleton should be available to play for Essendon and that could mean Daniher has trouble finding a spot. He might be able to play in a different role, like McPhee used to have and Lovett-Murray can be used in still, and Daniher could produce fantasy points if that happens.

Alwyn Davey

2009 regular season games: 20

They have a different forward structure now so that could change his stats, he is a very good tackler and when he gets a defender holding the ball in the forward 50 it can also mean Davey kicks a goal and that helps along the fantasy points.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 3m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Courtenay Dempsey

2009 regular season games: 19

Can do a bit more playing around half back, sometimes without an opponent.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 9h, 18p, 4m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Ricky Dyson

2009 regular season games: 22

An exciting player when he is running in space, needs to kick a few more goals to increase his fantasy points output and maybe the coach there does ask him to do that.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 5h, 18p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Dustin Fletcher

2009 regular season games: 17

Will still produce a lot of long kicks, but at his age there is likely to be a decrease in his overall stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 5h, 15p, 4m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Scott Gumbleton

2009 regular season games: 0

Fantasy coaches have been expecting him to be instant money for several years, this could be the time it happens. While not totally fit he is in better shape than in previous years, and he will have a bigger role than he could have had previously with Lloyd and Lucas gone.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 4h, 12p, 4m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Kyle Hardingham

The last player that Essendon added to their senior list for 2010, so playing a lot of games this year will be a difficult task for him.

David Hille

2009 regular season games: 4

Should be ready for round 1, and it looks like he will be a fantasy bargain.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 7h, 13p, 4m, 13ho. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Heath Hocking

2009 regular season games: 18

Probably not a player to get this season, doesn't really have any upside.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 10h, 18p, 4m. 7 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Cale Hooker

2009 regular season games: 15

Should be a regular in the back line, they won't need to use him in the ruck this year.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 8h, 14p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Bachar Houli

His disposal numbers can be high when he does play, but often the accuracy isn't there so maybe a Dream Team spot would make sense instead of a SuperCoach one if he does become a regular player for the Bombers.

Michael Hurley

2009 regular season games: 9

Has the potential to be Essendon's best player, in a few years, but is also currently suspended by the club and won't be playing preseason games.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 5h, 15p, 5m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Leroy Jetta

2009 regular season games: 6

Will battle Zaharakis, Melksham and others for games.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 6h, 12p, 3m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jason Laycock

Not a fan favourite at Essendon, and may not have a lot of fantasy coaches considering him as well. He has shown, occasionally, that he can get stats in the ruck and also grab a mark up forward but he won't be doing it at AFL level with Ryder and Hille ready for this season.

Sam Lonergan

2009 regular season games: 17

Does his job for the Bombers, may not be of great use to fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 9h, 16p, 3m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Anthony Long

Hard to see regular minutes opening up for him this year at Essendon, but in the future he could be a versatile player who brings in an assortment of stats.

Nathan Lovett-Murray

2009 regular season games: 13

Could be a versatile player with numerous stats, but there is just as much chance he plays a few VFL games too.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 8h, 15p, 4m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down.

Mark McVeigh

2009 regular season games: 11

The Bombers will be expecting him to bounce back with a great season, and if he does that then fantasy coaches who start the season with him will be rewarded, but it does get tricky as he is suspended for round 1.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 9h, 11p, 4m. 12 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Jake Melksham

2009 regular season games: 0

History says that most onballers who are drafted high will play quite a few games in their first season. Although Coach Knights hasn't been great for new players, fantasy coaches will probably think Melksham is a good player to have on a fantasy bench.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 3m. 10 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Angus Monfries

2009 regular season games: 20

Might be kicking a few more goals this year as they lost a lot of their best forwards.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 8h, 17p, 6m. 33 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

David Myers

Must have taken a wrong turn somewhere on his trip to being a fantasy star. Was supposed to be a big running defender, getting midfielder-type stats while playing in the fantasy back line, but right now he is close to being labelled a draft bust. Last year when he was given a small chance to play, he was played out of position as a key defender and that didn't work. He is very cheap in fantasy AFL this year, so if he plays a couple of great games during the season he could be someone to trade for.

Jay Neagle

2009 regular season games: 11

An interesting player, and this is his chance for a big breakout season with Lucas and Lloyd out. Most of his kicks are aimed at goal, and he is also an accurate kick, but he needs more games and more kicks at goal to be an option for fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 2h, 8p, 4m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Tayte Pears

2009 regular season games: 22

The Bombers have found their new full back, and while that is good for Essendon is does mean his stats in fantasy may never go higher.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 8h, 15p, 3m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brent Prismall

2009 regular season games: 12

Played half the season for Essendon after returning from injury, would be expected to play 22 games this season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 10h, 22p, 5m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Kyle Reimers

2009 regular season games: 9

One of the players they could turn to for the roles that Skipworth and Lovett used to have.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 7h, 16p, 4m. 20 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Paddy Ryder

2009 regular season games: 21

Return of Hille may not harm his stats, as there is room for both of them on the field at the same time.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 7h, 13p, 4m, 15ho. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Henry Slattery

2009 regular season games: 20

The Bombers need to play some of their younger players more, and that could mean H Slattery has a tougher time being selected by the Bombers.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 6h, 10p, 3m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Tyson Slattery

Depth in the back line there, and he was close to a game in 2009 as he was named as an emergency a few times.

Brent Stanton

2009 regular season games: 22

There is a chance that his numbers increase, he might be able to kick more goals than last year and that would help his fantasy numbers.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 10h, 24p, 6m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Michael Still

The Bombers are building a new forward line so he could see some limited action this year.

Jobe Watson

2009 regular season games: 21

Will also add a lot of tackles, maybe 5 per game.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 14h, 25p, 4m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Andrew Welsh

2009 regular season games: 10

Sometimes he is underrated in fantasy games and sometimes overrated, it does depend somewhat on his fantasy position and his price. Maybe his price is a bit low this year.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 11h, 20p, 4m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Mark Williams

2009 regular season games: 13

While not guaranteed, he would have to be someone expected to have a good increase in stats. He leaves a team with Franklin and Roughead up forward and joins a team that is now without their star forwards.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 5h, 13p, 5m. 38 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Jason Winderlich

2009 regular season games: 18

Probably not at the peak of his stats yet, and also seems over the injuries he used to have earlier in his career.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 10h, 22p, 5m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

David Zaharakis

2009 regular season games: 10

If he cements a spot in the Essendon side he could be a bargain buy.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 6h, 15p, 5m. 14 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Rookies

Christian Bock

Still needs to bulk up and is several years away from really being a good ruck option for the Bombers. It would take two, or maybe three, injuries in the ruck to get the Bombers to play him this year.

Stewart Crameri

The Bombers have enough medium defenders on their senior list that needing him to play is very unlikely.

Ben Howlett

Could be ready for the AFL, and like several of their rookies he is a chance for a game at AFL level later in the season if injuries hit and the finals are not in Essendon's grasp.

Marcus Marigliani

Ready to contribute if the Bombers play him, he could be very useful to fantasy teams due to his price if he does find his way into their side.

Michael Quinn

Essendon only have one veteran player now, so they could nominate Quinn to play, but he is much more expensive in fantasy games this year.

Taite Silverlock

The Bombers would probably play their older rookies before him.

John Williams

Could be a useful player at half forward or on the wing, but seeing that Essendon demoted him to the rookie list it does not seem like he will be playing.

New
Jake Carlisle, Travis Colyer, Kyle Hardingham, Anthony Long, Jake Melksham, Mark Williams
Rookie List: Stewart Crameri, Ben Howlett, Marcus Marigliani, Taite Silverlock, John Williams

Gone
Matthew Lloyd, Andrew Lovett, Scott Lucas, Jay Nash, Hayden Skipworth, John Williams

Fremantle

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

Hayden Ballantyne

2009 regular season games: 8

Should have a small increase in numbers, assuming he has the same forward pocket role.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 5h, 13p, 4m. 25 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Justin Bollenhagen

Will find it difficult to play games this season, as the Dockers have other young onballers ahead of him.

Kepler Bradley

Some could see value in him as he is one of the few ruck/defender players in fantasy AFL, although he won't help with the new rule of substituting players if he isn't playing for the Dockers. Clarke may be ahead of him when it comes to the backup ruck position.

Greg Broughton

2009 regular season games: 15

May not be able to do as much as he did last year, a the Dockers could be adding some other players to the back line who also have some of the ball.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 11h, 20p, 6m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Ben Bucovaz

Might be a player to watch, as the Dockers sort through their list and try to find a functioning forward line he could get a chance to play.

Zach Clarke

2009 regular season games: 5

Will have limited minutes but should play more games, something to remember for during the season is that he is only an injury from Sandilands away from a huge increase in fantasy points.

Projected 2010 Statistics
3k, 7h, 10p, 3m, 10ho. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009:

Jesse Crichton

A highly-rated young onballer, it wouldn't surprise if he plays more games than expected this season.

Ryan Crowley

2009 regular season games: 6

The Dockers will probably keep him in negating roles so his stats could be low again.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 5h, 12p, 4m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Steven Dodd

2009 regular season games: 22

Could see his playing time slashed, and his stats go to McPhee, Morabito and other Dockers.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 8h, 14p, 4m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Paul Duffield

2009 regular season games: 21

Has a very good kick to handball ratio.

Projected 2010 Statistics
15k, 7h, 22p, 4m. 7 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Nat Fyfe

Like Ballantyne last year, Fyfe joins a Fremantle team that really needs goals. He should play a few games this season.

Antoni Grover

2009 regular season games: 21

A bit better for stats than most would think, but probably doesn't give a fantasy coach a big reason to sign him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 5h, 13p, 5m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Chris Hall

He is cheap, but doesn't seem to have a shot at playing a lot this season.

Paul Hasleby

2009 regular season games: 22

Was nearly on the way out but signed a new, but short-term, contract.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 13h, 22p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Roger Hayden

2009 regular season games: 8

Duffield and Broughton have taken over his role, so unless he finds a new position or one of them is hurt Hayden's stats may not be great, but he should still have games with good numbers.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 4m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Des Headland

2009 regular season games: 9

Always looks like an option for fantasy coaches looking for value up forward, but he does get injured and suspended.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 5h, 15p, 5m. 25 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Stephen Hill

2009 regular season games: 22

What made him great for fantasy teams last year was his price, his fantasy position and the fact he played every game. While he may do a bit more for stats in 2010, he is now much more costly and not eligible in the fantasy back line.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 9h, 17p, 4m. 12 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Clayton Hinkley

Hasn't impressed so far and it doesn't look like he can lift his game.

Joel Houghton

They do need someone like him in the forward line, but he may not be ready yet.

Garrick Ibbotson

2009 regular season games: 22

had a few struggles last season before getting things going, might provide value for fantasy coaches this year.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 9h, 20p, 5m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Michael Johnson

2009 regular season games: 10

Can play in every position on the ground, so fantasy coaches will be guessing what his stats could be until they see where he plays.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 6h, 18p, 5m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Chris Mayne

2009 regular season games: 5

Has the ability to be a triple-threat fantasy player with goals, marks and possessions. If he can do that this year, and stay healthy, he will be a fantasy steal.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 4m. 33 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Luke McPharlin

2009 regular season games: 18

Can get stats as a forward or back for the purple people, his contested marking ability probably makes him a better option for SuperCoach than Dream Team.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 6m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Adam McPhee

2009 regular season games: 20

It seems he could be a loose defender or a big midfielder for the Dockers, both spots should mean good stats. He is also a forward and defender in fantasy games, that could be useful with the new substitution rules.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 8h, 19p, 6m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Anthony Morabito

2009 regular season games: 0

Would be expected to play every game and have a rapid price rise.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 8h, 18p, 4m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

David Mundy

2009 regular season games: 22

Just another manic Mundy, he can do everything but doesn't do it all the time. Isn't a fantasy defender this season in fantasy, so he will lose a lot of fans in fantasy games.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 8h, 18p, 5m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ryan Murphy

It feels like a long time since he was a promising forward with great accuracy in front of goal. Campbell and Drum are gone now, and Tarrant is in the back half, so Murphy does have less competition for a spot.

Brock O'Brien

Has a good price, so if a couple of small defenders at the Dockers are hurt then BOB may become a fantasy option.

Rhys Palmer

2009 regular season games: 5

Just like his first year, if he is named for round 1 he will be in many fantasy teams, if he isn't named to play then it will be hard to keep him in teams as he may not be certain of playing in round 2 if the Dockers are easing him back into action. When he does play, he will do more than his opening price.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 12h, 22p, 4m. 16 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Matthew Pavlich

2009 regular season games: 19

Might be up in SuperCoach, with more contested marks and goals, and stay around the same numbers in Dream Team as he moves back to full forward for the Dockers.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 7h, 18p, 6m. 55 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Dylan Roberton

If they play McPhee in the middle and McPharlin up forward it could mean a spot opens up in the back line, and maybe Roberton is used there.

Tim Ruffles

Wouldn't be a good choice for fantasy teams.

Aaron Sandilands

2009 regular season games: 20

Not a wild guess, he should lead the AFL in hitouts.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 10h, 17p, 4m, 30ho. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Byron Schammer

2009 regular season games: 19

It's still Schammer Time at the Dockers, although he may not be on many fantasy teams as he is probably at his peak right now for price and stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 10h, 20p, 4m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Dean Solomon

Retired, but even if the Dockers were still playing him he would not be a good choice for fantasy teams, too many suspensions and not enough stats.

Nick Suban

2009 regular season games: 22

Had a very productive first year and should show improvement in his second.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 6h, 16p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Chris Tarrant

2009 regular season games: 22

Not a lot of stats at full back for him, and even when he was a forward for the Dockers his stats were low.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 6h, 12p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Scott Thornton

The Dockers keep trying with Thornton but without success, unlikely to find a spot in the team very often.

Michael Walters

Can add some pace and kick a goal, may get a few more games in 2010.

Rookies

Michael Barlow

Ready for AFL, just needs the Dockers to pick him as a rookie available to play every round and he will be a bench option for fantasy teams.

Matthew de Boer

Played a lot of games last year. Could again be a regular player but at his 2010 fantasy price he won't be a fantasy player to have.

Clancee Pearce

Another rookie who performed well for the Dockers in 2009, knows how to kick goals. Due to his play last season he isn't cheap this time.

Hamish Shepheard

Might be the rookie there who is least likely to play in 2010.

Casey Sibosado

Had a lot of hype a few drafts ago but slid and ended up at the Dockers via the rookie draft. The Dockers do need to try new players up forward so maybe they play him late in season 2010 if a spot is available.

Alex Silvagni

A cheap fantasy defender, and there are few of those around this season who may play AFL. He has been a solid defender in the VFL for several seasons and is ready for AFL.

Jay van Berlo

AFL clubs seem to look to their rookie lists for taggers, like Picken and Joseph, and the Dockers may use van Berlo in that role in 2010. He increased his price with 4 games last season, so even if he does play AFL this season he doesn't have a lot of upside for fantasy teams.

New
Justin Bollenhagen, Greg Broughton (elevated rookie), Jesse Crichton, Nat Fyfe, Joel Houghton, Adam McPhee, Anthony Morabito, Dylan Roberton
Rookie List: Michael Barlow, Alex Silvagni

Geelong

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

Gary Ablett

2009 regular season games: 19

Most will sign him up, and the formula for success was having him as fantasy captain and that made his price more than worth it last year, but he may have several off-field distractions during season 2010 and it could mean his stats slip a little.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 16h, 28p, 4m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Jimmy Bartel

2009 regular season games: 21

Will again be one of the best fantasy onballers.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 11h, 25p, 6m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Mark Blake

2009 regular season games: 18

May not be able to do more for stats than he did last year, even when Ottens was out his numbers were not great, and there is a chance that the Cats give some of their younger ruckmen a chance in 2010.

Projected 2010 Statistics
3k, 6h, 9p, 2m, 16ho. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Mitchell Brown

Injured and unlikely to play in their AFL side even when healthy in 2010, he would need several of their star talls to be out of the side to play.

Shannon Byrnes

2009 regular season games: 19

May have overachieved last year, if that is right it could mean his fantasy price has a correction early in the season, which would mean a loss in value.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 8h, 16p, 5m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Paul Chapman

2009 regular season games: 17

May be worth his high price, or he could be just a bit too expensive, but even if he drops a little bit of value he will still be one of the very best fantasy forwards, as long as the hamstrings stay strong.

Projected 2010 Statistics
15k, 7h, 23p, 6m. 34 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Allen Christensen

The Cats do find success when drafting local players, but it could be a few years if it happens to Christensen.

Joel Corey

2009 regular season games: 20

Will have plenty of the ball, add some tackles too, and he usually gets more free kicks than he gives away.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 14h, 26p, 5m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Josh Cowan

Players like Hogan are still waiting to find a spot in the side, so it will be a long wiat for Cowan.

Nathan Djerrkura

Would have played many more games at other clubs, will have the occasional game for the Cats this year but unless he cements a spot every week he isn't a player for fantasy teams.

Marcus Drum

Brought in from Fremantle and does have the size and ability to be used in Harley's role. But if he couldn't get a game at Fremantle then it could be impossible to break into the Geelong side, or he could join many ex-Fremantle players like McPhee and Bell and play much better after leaving.

Mitch Duncan

One of several good draft choices the Cats made recently, but they don't have an open spot to play them.

Corey Enright

2009 regular season games: 22

Very useful for fantasy teams, you get someone with midfield stats and play them in your fantasy back line.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 12h, 25p, 5m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009:

Ryan Gamble

A gamble for fantasy teams, as he isn't a regular in the Geelong side at the moment.

Tom Gillies

2009 regular season games: 6

Has a big opportunity to play a lot more games, but his actual stats and price may not go up a huge amount.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 7h, 12p, 3m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Tom Hawkins

2009 regular season games: 21

Might kick a few more goals this season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 6m. 40 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Simon Hogan

2009 regular season games: 9

Might be able to win a regular spot in the Geelong side, but will need to kick more and handball less for fantasy coaches to sign him as he no longer has a low price.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 10h, 16p, 3m. 14 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Josh Hunt

2009 regular season games: 0

If he can get back his old spot in the side, he would be a fantasy steal, especially in SuperCoach that rewards players like him, and Hurn and Gilbee, who kick long and well.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 6h, 15p, 5m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Taylor Hunt

If the Cats need to find a small run-with player they may turn to T Hunt.

Steve Johnson

2009 regular season games: 16

Sunk many fantasy teams last year when they traded for him, and then he missed several games with an injury.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 5h, 18p, 5m. 40 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

James Kelly

2009 regular season games: 15

A solid player, his stats would go up if a couple of their midfield stars missed games.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 12h, 22p, 3m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jeremy Laidler

Hard to see where he could get a game in the team this year.

Cameron Ling

2009 regular season games: 19

Many tackles help with his fantasy points, and although his primary task is often stopping an opposition star he does get the ball himself and isn't at a bad price in fantasy games.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 11h, 20p, 5m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Tom Lonergan

2009 regular season games: 9

They may need him in the back line, with Harley gone, or he could play forward again if there is an injury to a tall.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 6h, 11p, 4m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Andrew Mackie

2009 regular season games: 21

As long as Geelong doesn't need to put him on power forwards his total stats should be high.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 10h, 22p, 6m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Daniel Menzel

Might be the eventual replacement for Milburn in the back line, but that will be 2011 at the earliest.

Darren Milburn

2009 regular season games: 18

Probably is used off the bench by Geelong in what could be his final season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 8h, 18p, 5m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Cameron Mooney

2009 regular season games: 21

Will get useful stats, but there could be better fantasy forwards to pick around his price.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 4h, 13p, 6m. 44 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Steven Motlop

Could get into a few games, but the Cats have a lot of capable small forwards and nowhere to play them.

Brad Ottens

2009 regular season games: 3

Maybe he will still be a star fantasy ruckman, although there is a chance that he is too old and injury-prone to risk for fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 7h, 12p, 3m, 15ho. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Max Rooke

2009 regular season games: 20

A lot of the stuff he does to help Geelong win isn't counted in the fantasy stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 4m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Matthew Scarlett

2009 regular season games: 19

The only chance there is for his stats to go up is if Gillies, or someone else, takes over at full back and they play Scarlett in the loose defedner role that Harley had.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 6h, 16p, 5m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Joel Selwood

2009 regular season games: 22

A player that always gets plenty of free kicks, and that is helpful to his fantasy points average.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 16h, 28p, 4m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Dawson Simpson

He has to get a game soon, and might get his chance later in the season if Blake or Ottens misses a game. Not someone to have stored on your bench, as there are many other cheap ruckmen with better potential for stats this season.

Mathew Stokes

Shocked the people of Geelong when they saw his moustache, and the other stuff about him didn't impress anyone as well. The moustache is now gone, and Stokes' career may be out of there too. Not someone to have on a fantasy team to start the season.

Harry Taylor

2009 regular season games: 19

Will have a tough opponent every week, so he can't be running around getting a lot of stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 10h, 17p, 5m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Travis Varcoe

2009 regular season games: 19

A goal and a few tackles is all Geelong need from him and he delivers that, but may not be able to increase his numbers so fantasy teams don't need him unless his possessions total goes up.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 8h, 15p, 3m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Nathan Vardy

Many thought he would go in the first round of the draft, he slipped a bit and was taken by Geelong later in the draft. Could be a productive fantasy player in the future, as a ruckman/forward.

Trent West

Might have more ability than he gets credit for, in the VFL he has shown he can play in the ruck and also as a key position player at either end. Is probably an injury or two away from regular games in the ruck for Geelong, and if Geelong go looking for height for the back line maybe they turn to him for that spot too. Is cheap enough to be a fantasy team's 4th ruckman.

David Wojcinski

2009 regular season games: 18

His speedy runs though the centre of the ground don't mean extra fantasy points, so while he provides some excitement during games he doesn't provide enough fantasy points.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 9h, 16p, 3m. 7 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Rookies

Tom Allwright

A midfielder with potential, not that Geelong need more help there right now.

Ranga Ediriwickrama

Exciting player for NSW at Under 18 level who has had a few injuries so far at Geelong, would be hard to get a game in their AFL side even if fit.

Ben Johnson

Depth in the back line, and that could be a spot where help is needed if some of the older players there are hurt.

James Podsiadly

Might be the only rookie at the lowest of prices to be of use to fantasy teams this season. If the Cats do play him, he will kick goals.

Jesse Stringer

A small midfielder, won't be close to a game.

Adam Varcoe

The Cats have a lot of young players on their senior list who can play a small froward role so A Varcoe isn't going to be playing unless a huge amount of injuries hit the Cats.

Jack Weston

More depth for the back half, he is a medium defender. Unlikely to play soon.

Hawthorn

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

Max Bailey

Injured again, which could make him a ruckman everyone wants on their bench for season 2011.

Chance Bateman

2009 regular season games: 22

An exciting player, although he was even better before he went to the barber, and brings in plenty of stats due to his run. With a bit better accuracy, he could average a goal per game.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 10h, 20p, 5m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Grant Birchall

2009 regular season games: 19

A quality fantasy defender, often gets the ball and handballs to a teammate and starts sprinting ahead where he gets the ball again and sends a kick forward. It helps the stats add up, and also gets the ball quickly ahead to their star forwards.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 11h, 22p, 5m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Campbell Brown

2009 regular season games: 21

Might be forward this year, if Gilham, Schoenmakers and Gibson have the back line under control.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Shaun Burgoyne

2009 regular season games: 9

Often a player that goes to a new club or a player returning from injury is a fantasy steal, as Burgoyne is both a player at a new club and one that had a disappointing season due to injury in 2009, and has been a fantasy superstar before, he is everyone’s pick as a player to have in 2010.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 10h, 23p, 4m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Trent Croad

He has retired, although he will probably find his way onto a thousand teams in SuperCoach and Dream Team. Which is strange.

Beau Dowler

2009 regular season games: 13

He wasn't great for stats last year, but when his starting price is considered he was a big help to the fantasy teams that had him. This year, he costs a lot more but may not do more.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 6h, 15p, 4m. 14 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Taylor Duryea

A young player added in the draft, the Hawks are unlikely to play him.

Xavier Ellis

2009 regular season games: 11

Yet another Hawk who missed a lot of season 2009, and is also expected to play much better in 2010.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 10h, 20p, 4m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Lance Franklin

2009 regular season games: 21

Last year the Hawthorn midfield wasn't at its best, and there were times when Franklin had to go in there himself so the ball could be sent forward, this year it should all work like it did in 2008 and Franklin can dominate up forward as a steady supply of the football is sent his way. But there is one annoyance for fantasy coaches, he is out for round 1.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 6h, 16p, 6m. 88 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Josh Gibson

2009 regular season games: 22

At the Kangaroos there were games when he was sent into the middle, it is likely that at Hawthorn his stats will be less as he has to mind a key forward every game.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Stephen Gilham

2009 regular season games: 10

Just a full back so his stats will never be high.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 8h, 14p, 4m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Sam Grimley

His chances of playing would seem grim.

Brent Guerra

2009 regular season games: 16

Is a solid player for fantasy teams, but just doesn't seem like playing like a star as he did a few years back.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 7h, 18p, 4m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Luke Hodge

2009 regular season games: 19

Injuries limited what he could do in 2009, should be back to his best now.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 11h, 24p, 5m. 20 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Rhan Hooper

Seemed to have a problem at Brisbane with remembering he had a football club to go to, fines and suspensions didn't change him and Brisbane decided they would be better without him. The Hawks have given him another chance in the AFL, but fantasy coaches probably shouldn't.

Rick Ladson

2009 regular season games: 3

Looks to be over his injuries and that should mean he is on a lot of fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 9h, 16p, 3m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Jordan Lewis

2009 regular season games: 19

May have a few less stats per game, as the Hawks have fit players to put back into the team as well as S Burgoyne.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 12h, 23p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Jordan Lisle

The Hawks should consider him to be an exciting prospect, but if they also consider him to be a tall forward then he will be waiting to play as Franklin and Roughead are there.

Luke Lowden

The low-down on Lowden is that he is a project player for them and not close to playing.

Sam Mitchell

2009 regular season games: 22

No longer someone who handballs a lot, he can now position himself at half back and have close to 40 possessions with the majority of them being kicks.

Projected 2010 Statistics
15k, 14h, 29p, 5m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jarryd Morton

2009 regular season games: 9

The Hawks have to find a way to get him into the side every week, like all the Mortons he has skill. But fantasy teams will need him to be playing every week for Hawthorn before they can sign him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 8h, 18p, 5m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Tom Murphy

His spot in the Hawthorn side is not secure now with the acquisition of Gibson by the Hawks and also with Schoenmakers stepping up his game.

Beau Muston

2009 regular season games: 8

Last year he started with huge stats, then the Hawks used him as a tagger and his stats disappeared, and then after that he was out of the side. So Muston does have the ability to get star fantasy totals, but it depends on if and where the Hawks use him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 7h, 15p, 4m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Michael Osborne

2009 regular season games: 17

Should be able to average more possessions and more goals than he did in 2009.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 7h, 17p, 4m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Brent Renouf

2009 regular season games: 15

Could be losing his spot as the backup ruckman to Skipper.

Projected 2010 Statistics
3k, 6h, 9p, 3m, 10ho. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Cyril Rioli

2009 regular season games: 19

He may do more for possessions if the Hawks decide to give him more midfield minutes, but he is so dangerous up forward it may make more sense for them to leave him up there.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 8h, 17p, 4m. 28 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jarryd Roughead

2009 regular season games: 19

Could increase his stats a small amount in 2010, but if Franklin is out long-term during the season then Roughead does have the potential for 100 goals.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 4h, 13p, 5m. 60 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Shane Savage

Oooohh, Yeah! The little Macho Man has shown he can be a part of the Hawthorn team and contribute in a minor role. His price is much higher now, the opportunity for a lot more games with a bigger role isn't there yet, so not someone to sign right now.

Ryan Schoenmakers

2009 regular season games: 13

Expected to play more games, and more minutes per game, in 2010 and that has to equal more stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 6h, 12p, 4m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Brad Sewell

2009 regular season games: 19

A reliable fantasy performer who is capable of leading the AFL in tackles.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 14h, 24p, 4m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Liam Shiels

Probably did a lot more than was expected last year, fantasy coaches may want to wait with him as his chances of playing every week are not good and if he is in and out of the Hawthorn side all the time it will cause trouble for fantasy teams.

Ben Stratton

Won't be needed unless a lot of injuries hit Hawthorn again.

Matthew Suckling

Richard Champion's last name is preferable to that one. Although it does describe what part of his career he is at, as the young player who needs to get bigger before playing a lot more.

Simon Taylor

2009 regular season games: 18

Is their number 1 ruckman, but sort of by default, and isn't the best ruck choice for fantasy teams as he does get suspended, and he will often give away a lot more free kicks than he gets.

Projected 2010 Statistics
2k, 7h, 9p, 3m, 22ho. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Travis Tuck

Might have starred in the first game of the season, and then was in and out of the team the rest of the way. Not the steal that he was expected to be for fantasy teams. But McGlynn and Kennedy have left, so Tuck won't have as much competition for a spot in the midfield now.

Brendan Whitecross

Injuries gave him and several others unexpected opportunities to play a lot last year. Could still get into the side in 2010, but there is a chance that he spends considerable time in the VFL too.

Jordan Williams

Out goes M Williams and J Williams arrives. Not expected to play in 2010.

Clinton Young

2009 regular season games: 5

If he is healthy, and he has yet to prove that, he will be a bargain fantasy player.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 7h, 18p, 6m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Rookies

Luke Breust

If some injuries hit the Hawthorn midfield they may use Breust for a few games. He could probably bring in sold stats.

Michael Johnston

Wouldn't seem to be close to playing.

Jarrod Kayler-Thomson

An older player so he is ready physically for AFL, compared to many other rookies.

Riley Milne

Did get into a couple of games, he still needs time to develop but he has the tall defender who can run potential for fantasy stats.

Garry Moss

The Hawks played him and he did some tagging, but then exploded with goals and possessions. He is back there on the rookie list again but could again play if Hawthorn nominate him as their rookie to be available every round.

Carl Peterson

One of many small forwards the Hawks have, he would be down the bottom of the depth chart for that position at Hawthorn.

Will Sierakowski

Likely to need another year in the VFL to improve his game.

Wayde Skipper

Seems to have arrived in a good spot, as the Hawks are in trouble in the ruck spot. Skipper does have contested marking ability, and is at a bargain price.

Cameron Stokes

A capable small forward for the Hawks, but how many games he will play is uncertain.

New
Shaun Burgoyne, Taylor Duryea, Sam Grimley, Josh Gibson, Rhan Hooper, Ben Stratton, Matthew Suckling (elevated rookie), Jordan Williams
Rookie List: Jarrod Kayler-Thomson, Michael Johnston, Wayde Skipper

Melbourne

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

Rohan Bail

Had 5 SuperCoach points for the 2009 season and they still put his price up. He is still cheap, but with the new draft picks joining the team he is pushed down the depth chart more.

Clint Bartram

Has been an intriguing player for fantasy teams, a fantasy defender who sometimes gets into the middle although in a negative, tagging role there. At his price he probably doesn't represent value for money for fantasy coaches now.

Matthew Bate

2009 regular season games: 20

Is good but is expected to be great for fantasy AFL, as he could bring in huge stats as a marking mobile player in the forward line and midfield for Melbourne.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 8h, 17p, 5m. 30 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Daniel Bell

Playing three games last year has made him affordable, but it could also show that he won't be playing a lot in 2010.

Jamie Bennell

2009 regular season games: 16

Played a lot last year, but Melbourne do have new players who could be used in his spot for 2010.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 3m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Sam Blease

Melbourne kept him out of their side so he wouldn't get hurt, and he was injured at school instead. They are still bringing him along slowly, so it might be better if fantasy coaches wait to see what happens during the year with him.

Cameron Bruce

2009 regular season games: 19

Maybe he won't need to do everything there as the younger players step up, so his stats could have a small decrease.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 11h, 21p, 5m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Kyle Cheney

He was good and bad for fantasy coaches last year, he started cheap but played 12 games and was never assured of being in their side. That uncertainty probably continues this year, and as he is much more expensive he isn't a player for fantasy teams.

Aaron Davey

2009 regular season games: 22

Melbourne were more dangerous when he was kicking goals, so they may give him more time up forward, that could mean a few less disposals but for fantasy points that could be balanced by more goals.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 6h, 20p, 3m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Lynden Dunn

2009 regular season games: 13

Like Ling, Dunn started his career as a marking forward but now he is a big tagger, but not getting the stats that Ling does.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 5h, 14p, 4m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jack Fitzpatrick

A pick for the future by the Melbourne Football Club. Has the same potential as Vickery at Richmond and Cordy at the Bulldogs. Not expected to play this year with Melbourne, so fantasy coaches may need to wait a few years for Fitzpatrick if Melbourne keep him in the VFL to develop. But he does have ability, so there might be a chance that Melbourne go with all their youth and he may play then.

James Frawley

2009 regular season games: 20

There probably isn't much more that he can do for fantasy teams, considering his position and skill set, so he may be someone to avoid.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Colin Garland

2009 regular season games: 1

Melbourne may use him in the forward line this season, and that could change his stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 6h, 15p, 4m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Max Gawn

A giant ruckman new to AFL, and also coming back from injury, that should mean he is several years away from being signed by fantasy teams.

Brad Green

2009 regular season games: 12

Melbourne probably should have made that trade with Collingwood a while back, Green's stats and his fantasy value are probably going to decline.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 7h, 18p, 4m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Jack Grimes

2009 regular season games: 11

Old Grimey was great for fantasy teams last year, that there isn't much more he can do so he doesn't really bring value for fantasy teams. He should be worth his price, but you can't sign him and expect instant money like he produced last year.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 8h, 21p, 7m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jordan Gysberts

With their four early draft picks Melbourne selected three players ready to go at AFL level and also Gysberts, who may need more time. That means you won't want Gysberts on your fantasy team for round 1, but he may be an option later in the season.

Mark Jamar

2009 regular season games: 7

Melbourne's ruck position has been very confused since White was sent away. Maybe Jamar is their top ruckman and gets a lot of minutes, and also some playing time up forward, or maybe he splits the ruck minutes with someone else or could even find himself in the VFL if Melbourne get more production from another ruckman.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 8h, 12p, 4m, 20ho. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Neville Jetta

Sydney is hoping this changes, but nobody called Jetta has been a consistent player for their AFL club. Was able to play 15 games last year, may not get that many this time.

Paul Johnson

2009 regular season games: 18

Can sometimes produce good fantasy numbers, but his role and minutes at Melbourne are uncertain as he has the tweener affliction, too small for the ruck and doesn't kick enough goals up forward so he is in between positions.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 4m, 12ho. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Nathan Jones

2009 regular season games: 20

Might need to reinvent himself to stay important at Melbourne, due to the influx of young onballers there, and maybe he moves to the back line or maybe he is McDonald's successor in the middle but for that Jones would have to increase his accountability and tackling.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 11h, 20p, 4m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Liam Jurrah

2009 regular season games: 9

It looks like they will have Watts wrapped up in cottonwool and will be unleashing Jurrah, that should be good news for fantasy coaches who are investing in Jurrah as he could have nice increases in stats and value.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 4h, 13p, 5m. 44 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Joel Macdonald

2009 regular season games: 22

Melbourne picked him first in the preseason draft, so fantasy coaches will be assuming Melbourne intend to play him all the time. He should fit into their back line and have many easy possessions, so his fantasy price could be right and he will be a good signing.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 11h, 22p, 6m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Addam Maric

2009 regular season games: 6

A chance at midfield minutes probably disintegrated when Melbourne announced their first two draft picks, but Maric would seem more suited to being a small forward and if he kicks more goals than he has so far he will be a fantasy player to think about getting.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 4h, 10p, 3m. 12 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Stefan Martin

2009 regular season games: 19

If Melbourne can figure out his position and leave him in that spot to develop as a player he could produce consistent stats and he is an affordable fantasy player.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 6h, 11p, 4m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

James McDonald

2009 regular season games: 18

Getting to the end, so that should scare away fantasy coaches. His tackling is down, he used to be one of the very best at that, and he is giving away many frees compared to the number he receives.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 10h, 17p, 3m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Tom McNamara

Played three games last year, which sent his price from bargain to overpriced. May not play more this year if Melbourne's tall defenders stay healthy.

Brad Miller

2009 regular season games: 17

Could be playing full forward at the MCG or at Cranbourne, it does depend on how Melbourne build their forward line and how much youth they will play there. Miller is one of Melbourne's better marking players, and his fantasy price represents some value, so he may be someone for fantasy coaches to consider.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 4h, 11p, 5m. 20 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brent Moloney

2009 regular season games: 21

He finally got there, as a midfielder with a lot of the ball and playing a lot of games. Before that he was known as that injured guy at Melbourne who Geelong sent out in the Ottens deal. Should continue to have a huge role, and his fantasy points could increase a little bit if he kicks more goals, has more tackles, and has more balance in his free kicks as he does give away too many compared to the few he gets.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 13h, 24p, 5m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Cale Morton

2009 regular season games: 21

Might be the prototype of the tall running onballer who is great for fantasy teams, and there is still room for improvement over the next few seasons. If Melbourne would put him as the loose player across half back, his stats could be huge.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 10h, 24p, 7m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ricky Petterd

2009 regular season games: 17

His career so far has been injuries, some exciting fantasy games as a defender for Melbourne, a big injury, and now a spot in their forward line. He wasn't bad for fantasy teams last year despite playing up forward for Melbourne, but would need a move back to half back to bring in another jump in stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 5m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jared Rivers

2009 regular season games: 20

Got back to playing last year, and this year should get back to playing well.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 5m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Tom Scully

2009 regular season games: 0

Top pick in the draft, which does mean a higher fantasy price than the many other onballers selected after him. Will still be worth his price, and a lot more.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 7h, 16p, 3m. 7 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

James Strauss

A high draft pick, he has been around the AFL for a year, is at a struggling club, all the ingredients are there for him to be someone that fantasy teams want. Maybe that happens, you first have to wait for the coach there to select him.

Colin Sylvia

2009 regular season games: 17

Very surprising that they haven't shipped him out, this season they may use him less as they need to find minutes for a lot of younger onballers.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 9h, 20p, 5m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Luke Tapscott

Could have been a star fantasy player at some clubs this year, may still be that at Melbourne, it is just a numbers problem at Melbourne as they have many other young onballers to also play. At the other clubs that could have drafted him he would be their top new onballer, but at Melbourne he is already behind the top picks Scully and Trengove. What does make Tapscott seem like a viable fantasy player is that he is a fantasy forward, and he comes to the AFL physically ready to play. An injury will mean he will miss the early months of the season, and would be someone to trade for after he plays a couple of games.

Jack Trengove

2009 regular season games: 0

Expected to walk in and dominate, and that will mean instant money for fantasy coaches.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 7h, 17p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Matthew Warnock

2009 regular season games: 17

A useful player for Melbourne but certainly not indispensable so he could find himself out of the side if other talls are playing well there.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 7h, 11p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jack Watts

2009 regular season games: 3

Melbourne just have to get him out there, it doesn't have to be at full forward as he can play in other roles too. As long as they do play him, he should have a good fantasy value increase.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 4h, 12p, 4m. 20 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Austin Wonaeamirri

2009 regular season games: 0

Should be back in a forward pocket during season 2010, and his price is low again so he should be a good investment to have and then sell.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 4h, 13p, 3m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Rookies

Rhys Healey

Would be a year or two away from playing.

Daniel Hughes

Has been at Melbourne for a while and could play this year if they try to find some goals.

Jordie McKenzie

Not cheap after playing a few games in 2009. He may be the rookie that Melbourne play, especially if they need midfield help.

John Meesen

The name probably puts a lot of fear into fantasy coaches, a couple of years ago he sat on benches all year and did nothing and last year he did play but it was only four games. As he has been put on their rookie list, is hurt and has a much higher fantasy price it should mean fantasy coaches avoid him.

Michael Newton

If they awarded a lot of fantasy points for big marks, he could be a good fantasy player to have. Can take a Mark-Of-The-Year contender and then miss the shot for goal from 25m out. Even if he does play a bit for Melbourne it would be best to not sign him.

Jake Spencer

A big ruckman with good potential, and he doesn't have a huge fantasy price so if Melbourne do put him into their team he may be a fantasy option.

North Melbourne

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

Leigh Adams

A few games in 2009 with good statistics. Maybe they use him more in 2010, or maybe the Kangaroos prefer to play some of their new players ahead of him.

Liam Anthony

2009 regular season games: 10

There is a new coach, and if he wants things to be different at the Kangaroos he may want more accountability in the middle, and that could mean Anthony isn't running around by himself as much. He may be able to get the same stats he had last year, there is a good chance he does a bit less, so at his fantasy price he will be on very few teams compared to last season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 11h, 22p, 5m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Ryan Bastinac

2009 regular season games: 0

As long as North Melbourne name him for round 1, he should be a very helpful fantasy player who is on the bench for many teams, rising in value and also being a good emergency player.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 3m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Warren Benjamin

There doesn't seem to be a spot for him in the team there, but if he does play then fantasy coaches should remember he is very cheap.

Aaron Black

Might be a draft steal for the Kangaroos but is probably several years away from being a fantasy AFL player. If the medium forwards there like Smith, Hansen, Tarrant and Edwards don't produce then maybe they give Black a shot in 2010.

Matt Campbell

2009 regular season games: 12

Doesn't seem capable of being more than a small forward, if that is right then he is at the peak of his statistics.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 4h, 11p, 3m. 16 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ben Cunnington

2009 regular season games: 0

If healthy, and he has missed some of preseason, he could be the best fantasy player of the first-year players. He can win the contested ball, get plenty of the ball on the wing, can outmark other onballers when he goes forward, he could be the total package.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 8h, 18p, 4m. 10 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Aaron Edwards

100 goals in the VFL but an inconsistent career with the Kangaroos. Not someone for Dream Team even if he did play a lot more, but still has the potential for SuperCoach with his contested marking ability.

Michael Firrito

2009 regular season games: 22

It looks like they will continue with him in the middle, they do need his size there, and he will have some of the ball and a lot of tackles there. It looks like they have enough all defenders, but if they did have to send him back it would cut into his stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 9h, 16p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Cruize Garlett

An elevated rookie, may play a few games as a crumbing forward but he doesn't have a bargain price.

Todd Goldstein

2009 regular season games: 13

If McIntosh gets hurt, Goldstein would do a lot more. Right now, he and Hale could be battling for the backup ruck spot, as there probably isn't room in the side for McIntosh, Petrie, Goldstein and Hale.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 5h, 9p, 3m, 12ho. 10 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Levi Greenwood

2009 regular season games: 11

It looks like he has found his position, following around the other team's midfield star. That won't mean huge stats, but he could be playing every game and being in the middle he will get enough of the ball to have a good increase on his stats from last year. Eligible as a fantasy defender as well as midfielder, due to his affordable price he could be a fantasy player to start if there isn't a lot of money to use.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 7h, 15p, 3m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Nathan Grima

2009 regular season games: 13

Enters the season with a minor injury, but he should be ready for round 1.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 7h, 16p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

David Hale

2009 regular season games: 16

It looks like Petrie is their main forward, and McIntosh is their top ruckman, and Hale will play sporadically and then await a trade to the Gold Coast at the end of the year. He does have a good fantasy price, so if the Kangaroos do decide he is a key forward who will play every game he might be a player to sign.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 3h, 10p, 4m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Lachlan Hansen

2009 regular season games: 16

Probably plays forward, and will have solid stats as the second or third target up there.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 5h, 14p, 5m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Leigh Harding

2009 regular season games: 18

Might be someone who starts to lose playing time as Cunnington and others are introduced to the side.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 7h, 16p, 5m. 12 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Brent Harvey

2009 regular season games: 14

Had an ugly start to season 2009, lost money for fantasy teams and then was injured and had to be traded out. When he came back from injury he was quickly back to his high stats and someone fantasy coaches wanted.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 9h, 23p, 4m. 28 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Corey Jones

2009 regular season games: 10

Mr. Jones wishes he was someone just a little more funky. Could be refreshed with the arrival of a new coach, so see if that happens as Jones has many skills.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 7h, 14p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ayden Kennedy

A tall player with skills, but like many tall players in their first year on an AFL list he isn't expected to be a good fantasy player.

Ed Lower

Seems to be an average player who plays some of the games every season, the new coach may get more out of him, or send him to the VFL. There is little reason for fantasy coaches to start him.

Jamie Macmillan

Might play during the season, so watch his progress in the VFL as he could be someone you trade for later in the season to free up money. One plan could be having Bastinac on your bench to start the year, assuming the Kangaroos play him for round 1, and when he peaks in value you could send him out for Macmillan if the Kangaroos also add him to their lineup.

Hamish McIntosh

2009 regular season games: 22

A great bargain ruckman last year, you have to pay more this time. He is worth the money.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 8h, 16p, 5m, 22ho. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Scott McMahon

2009 regular season games: 22

A very important player for the Kangaroos who brings stability to the back line, is a very accurate kick.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 7h, 18p, 5m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brayden Norris

The Kangaroos drafted well but Norris doesn't have the potential that the other picks do.

Nathan O'Keefe

There doesn't seem to be any opportunity for him to get a game.

Drew Petrie

2009 regular season games: 22

They are saying he is their big forward target, so if everything goes to plan it should mean a lot of goals and some big, contested marks too. The problem for fantasy coaches is his early season suspension.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 6h, 16p, 7m. 50 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Daniel Pratt

2009 regular season games: 14

Brings some strength and some stats to their back line. Although his stats may be in a bit of a decline.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 6h, 16p, 5m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Brady Rawlings

2009 regular season games: 20

Might be too slow to tag the star onballers now so they sent him to the back line, where he increased his stats. He probably loses stats and value this season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 10h, 17p, 3m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Ben Ross

2009 regular season games: 9

Started his career as a small forward and now seems to be transitioning to the midfield, the Kangaroos need more midfield run and if they go with Ross he could be a bargain fantasy signing.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 8h, 17p, 3m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Josh Smith

2009 regular season games: 5

They do need a medium forward or two, to have a balanced forward line with Petrie and their various smalls, so there is a spot for a player like Smith. He didn't grab it last year, but gets another chance with a new coach.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 5h, 12p, 5m. 7 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Andrew Swallow

2009 regular season games: 22

Fantasy numbers last year were up in all areas, Swallow also had a huge amount of tackles and received many more frees than he gave away. After such a big increase, he may not be able to increase his numbers this year.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 10h, 18p, 4m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Robbie Tarrant

2009 regular season games: 0

Injury after injury so far in his career but 2010 should be a big year for him so expect some games and maybe useful stats. Could be used in any number of spots, which could help him keep his spot in the team when he does debut. Does have something in common with his new coach, they are both Chris' brother.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 4h, 10p, 3m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Lindsay Thomas

2009 regular season games: 19

Looks like a possible fantasy bargain again, but for that to happen he needs to go into the midfield, he can't do anything extra for stats if he is still just a forward pocket.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 3h, 11p, 3m. 20 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Scott D. Thompson

2009 regular season games: 22

Has been a hero and villain for fantasy teams, and now he has probably reached the top of his stats so there isn't a lot to be gained by adding him to fantasy teams now.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 7h, 14p, 5m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Gavin Urquhart

2009 regular season games: 18

Could become a fantasy star in the back line, it just depends on what the new coach does with him. Urquhart provides run and kicks the ball long, while he won't get there this season he does have the potential to play like Enright and Newman.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 7h, 18p, 5m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Ben Warren

2009 regular season games: 8

Produced a bit of excitement up forward for the Kangaroos when they were lacking in that area. An accurate forward, there could be a spot for him in their 2010 forward line.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 3h, 11p, 5m. 20 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Daniel Wells

2009 regular season games: 7

May start the season slowly, as always you need to watch the injury reports for him, but his fantasy price is very low and if Wells is well this season his fantasy teams will be rewarded.

Projected 2010 Statistics
15k, 7h, 22p, 5m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Sam Wright

Played four games last year, so as he isn't a bargain now he won't be on many fantasy teams. That could change if the Kangaroos name him for round 1.

Jack Ziebell

2009 regular season games: 10

A successful draft pick by the Kangaroos last year brought them Ziebell, and he was a highlight of the year for the Kangaroos and his many fantasy teams until his injury. He is back now, still eligible as a fantasy forward and midfielder, his price is good, he will again be a popular fantasy player.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 6h, 18p, 5m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Rookies

Majak Daw

Had a big finish to the TAC Cup season, and may be someone the Kangaroos play late in season 2010 if the finals are out of reach.

Luke Delaney

The North Melbourne back line doesn't have a lot of size at the moment, so a couple of injuries to their key defenders could mean Delaney playing is possible.

Conor Meredith

An international recruit that needs more time to develop and learn the game.

Alan Obst

A couple of games last year, and if the Kangaroos are going to need a tall rookie to play in 2010 they may again turn to him.

Matthew Scott

Not expected to play in 2010.

Ben Speight

Seems to be versatile so he could be an option in several different spots if injuries hit the Kangaroos.

Marcus White

As the Kangaroos go through their midfield during season 2010 as their new coach looks for the right combination, maybe White will get a look.

Port Adelaide

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

Mitchell Banner

2009 regular season games: 0

Fantasy coaches are probably hoping the Power use him in the second half of the year, that would make him the ideal player to trade in when sending out a midfield bench investment. He is cheap and will produce stats if he plays.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 7h, 14p, 3m. 7 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Travis Boak

2009 regular season games: 18

Needs to increase his marks and goals, and add a few more tackles, and he could bring in the fantasy numbers that players like Gibbs do. He does have the ability to do that, and with S Burgoyne leaving it does mean Boak will be expected to do more. His fantasy price is very affordable and

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 11h, 25p, 5m. 17 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Matthew Broadbent

2009 regular season games: 3

The Power have several young players similar to him with versatile skills and maybe only one or two spots in the side for them. If Broadbent does become a regular player then his price is very affordable.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 7h, 15p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Dean Brogan

2009 regular season games: 20

Some may worry he is getting a bit old, but if you take into consideration the time he was resting on the bench for the Adelaide 36ers he still has plenty left in the tank. Other fantasy coaches may worry about him getting suspended, which is a possibility. It is his first year at the Power without Lade there, so he does have a chance at a lot more minutes.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 8h, 13p, 4m, 25ho. 14 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

John Butcher

2009 regular season games: 0

The Power should put him in the team at some point of the season, and then leave him in all the way. That could make him someone to trade for later in the year. He is mobile for his height and takes a great contested mark, so the potential to help fantasy teams in his first year is definitely there.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 2h, 9p, 4m. 20 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Alipate Carlile

2009 regular season games: 21

One of the best, and underrated full backs in the AFL, and has probably levelled off for fantasy stats and value so he isn't a great option for fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
k, h, p, m. goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Josh Carr

His stats are declining so it may be best to avoid the veteran.

Domenic Cassisi

2009 regular season games: 21

A hardworking player who gets a fantasy points boost from a huge amount of tackles. If he kicks the ball a bit more, he could increase his fantasy value.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 14h, 23p, 3m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Troy Chaplin

2009 regular season games: 20

A big defender who gets involved in the play, but for fantasy teams his suspension will mean you don't want him to start the year.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 8h, 18p, 6m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Chad Cornes

2009 regular season games: 18

It may be hard to believe but he may not be the fantasy superstar he once was. Although there will be plenty of people signing him up and they could be rewarded. For SuperCoach, if the Power put him at half back and he spends the game marking opposition kicks he could again be one of the best fantasy defenders.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 8h, 20p, 7m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Kane Cornes

2009 regular season games: 22

There has been some talk about trying him in other spots, the Power recently said he could be used up forward, and if that happens it could affect his stats in a negative manner.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 13h, 24p, 5m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Jason Davenport

2009 regular season games: 10

It shows how good Geelong is when he was considered to be expendable, and also shows how successful the Power are when acquiring players from other AFL clubs. Davenport should play more games than he did last year, but produce similar averages to 2009.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 9h, 18p, 5m. 17 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brett Ebert

2009 regular season games: 20

A little big forward, he plays like a key position forward but with the height of an onballer. Is probably getting as many stats as he can, so isn't really worth investing in as his numbers and price have plateaued.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 4h, 12p, 5m. 33 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Robert Gray

2009 regular season games: 20

Considered to be the most likely Power player to elevate his game, maybe getting some of the possessions that the Burgoynes used to have. May be a player to sign, although his preseason so far has not been what is wanted.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 10h, 19p, 4m. 32 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Scott Harding

The Power do get a lot out of players they bring in from other clubs, and also know how to get a lot of production out of their small forward/midfielders, so he is someone to watch during the season.

Hamish Hartlett

2009 regular season games: 11

Everything is in place for him to dramatically increase his numbers, as he can continue to improve his game while a bigger role is there due to players leaving. He just has to stay fit.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 8h, 20p, 5m. 14 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Nathan Krakouer

2009 regular season games: 19

Looks like he is the Power's choice to control the ball in the back line, so the opportunity is there for him to get the stats that players like Duffield and Johncock get, but at a lower starting price.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 7h, 20p, 3m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Matthew Lobbe

2009 regular season games: 0

The Power are holding auditions for someone to be Brogan's understudy in the ruck, and Lobbe is one of three or four contenders. Fantasy coaches will hope he does get the role, with a cheap price and the possibility of playing nearly every game and also being dual-positioned in fantasy games he could be very useful. It could be Lobbe, or Trengove, maybe Cloke, so the fantasy coaches have to watch closely and make sure they pick who the Power will.

Projected 2010 Statistics
3k, 5h, 8p, 3m, 12ho. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Tom Logan

2009 regular season games: 15

Not guaranteed a spot in the side, so he could be a risky choice, although he doesn't have a huge price.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 7h, 14p, 4m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jasper McMillan-Pittard

If the Power decide youth is the way to go this year, then Jasper McMillan-Pittard could be a player to get for fantasy teams. Right now, there are better options for the midfield bench. That could mean Jasper McMillan-Pittard will be a trade target in the second half of the season if the Power wait a bit to debut him.

Andrew Moore

2009 regular season games: 0

One of the shocks of the draft, but the thinking would be that if the Power picked him so high they would be playing him now. So he could be someone many fantasy coaches want, sitting on the bench he would make money and also be someone to move forward and back to cover injuries on the fantasy team, utilizing the new rules.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 4m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Daniel Motlop

2009 regular season games: 11

More games and more goals seem likely, if he avoids injuries and suspensions.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 4h, 14p, 5m. 35 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Marlon Motlop

Will play an occasional game but isn't someone for fantasy coaches to think about signing.

Jay Nash

2009 regular season games: 2

Used to be capable of 20-possession games with Essendon until last season, when things didn't work. The Power do need another smaller player in the back line to have a lot of the ball, so if that is Nash he is a fantasy steal to get.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 8h, 18p, 4m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Danyle Pearce

2009 regular season games: 22

Will be productive nearly every game, he can have trouble when one fo the top taggers is assigned to him. He provides plenty of run, kicks the ball often, the Power may be expecting him to increase his stats this year and he could do that.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 8h, 21p, 4m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Michael Pettigrew

He should be among the group of tallish, running defenders who get a lot of stats like Mackie, Birchall and Bower. Pettigrew's career seems to have stalled, so don't be signing him unless he proves he is playing at a higher level for stats.

Jarrad Redden

The big ruck project on their list, maybe he doesn't play this year but he could be on fantasy teams a year or two in the future.

David Rodan

Injured his knee again, with the new surgery that he had Rodan will be back playing this season.

Steven Salopek

2009 regular season games: 16

It seems that every time he is ready to become one of the elite onballers of the AFL he gets injured. This season may be when he steps up another level, and he has a good price to sign.

Projected 2010 Statistics
15k, 10h, 25p, 6m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Nick Salter

The Power could be moving him away from the forward line and that might make him a productive fantasy player.

Jay Schulz

2009 regular season games: 4

The Power have wanted him for several years, and now they have him. He could be their answer to centre half forward. A bit like Damon White, Schulz could patrol at half forward and would sometimes have double-figures for marks in a game. Fantasy coaches will want to wait to see that the Power name him for round 1 before signing him, and then may again want to rethink that idea, but maybe Schulz is like Rodan and is improved after going from Richmond to Port Adelaide.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 4h, 12p, 5m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Daniel Stewart

A tall marking player with a low fantasy price, not someone for a fantasy bench if he isn't named for round 1 but there could be a time during the season when he plays and he may be someone to trade for.

Paul Stewart

In and out of the Port Adelaide side too much so he is a risk for fantasy coaches.

Jacob Surjan

2009 regular season games: 21

Everyone one is waiting for his stats to increase, but they are going up very slowly. Someone who will be picked every week by the Power, and is now considered a leader at the club, so he could be worth a spot in the fantasy back line as his price is not high.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 9h, 17p, 4m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Matt Thomas

Has sort of been an average player for a while, not cheap enough for fantasy coaches to gamble on and never really settled in the Power side. Maybe that changes this year as the Power have lost several veterans who used to have a lot of the football.

Wade Thompson

Quick player has been elevated from the rookie list, and should play more than the two games he had last year.

Warren Tredrea

2009 regular season games: 21

Was more than just useful for fantasy teams last year as he stayed healthy and produced goals, but he may not be able to maintain his value this time.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 4h, 12p, 6m. 38 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Jackson Trengove

The Power need another ruckman or tall defender, fantasy coaches are searching for a cheap ruckman and a cheap defender and he is eligible in both spots in fantasy AFL. Someone to watch closely, and even if he isn't named by the Power for round 1 he could still be a solid option for a fantasy bench spot.

Justin Westhoff

2009 regular season games: 13

Ebert plays big for his size, sometimes J Westhoff plays a bit small. That does mean he is mobile for someone at his height and that can mean easy possessions, especially if they decide to have him run around as a backup ruckman this season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 5h, 14p, 5m. 28 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Matthew Westhoff

This Hoff seems far away from regular games for the Power. Maybe if J Westhoff is out then the Power would turn to M Westhoff as his perfect replacement.

Rookies

Daniel Bass

The Power have said he could be a project that needs at least a couple of years.

Cameron Cloke

Not cheap so forget about him now, but if Brogan is hit with a long-term injury it could mean Cloke plays all the time.

Glenn Dawson

Moving down the depth chart at the Power, going to the rookie list, so that must indicate he isn't very close to playing.

Cameron Hitchcock

Showed some ability in the NAB Cup game against Adelaide. Has a low price so he could be some quick money for fantasy teams during the season if the Power play him.

Jordan Johns

Is at least a year away from playing.

Danny Meyer

Not at the cheap rookie fantasy price he was at last year, so you won't need him on your fantasy team.

Daniel Webb

The Power won't be playing him this year.

Richmond

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

David Astbury

A tall player who can run around a bit and play several different roles, a bit like J Post does for Richmond. He is definitely someone for fantasy coaches to watch, even though it is his first year of AFL he could help fantasy teams and Richmond may decide they may as well play him now.

Andrew Browne

A giant ruckman who could again be someone fantasy coaches get. It didn't work last year, as he only played one game, but at least that didn't increase his value very much. If Richmond decides that Vickery needs most of his time up forward, and they send Simmonds to the VFL as they want to go with youth, then maybe Browne plays a lot as Graham's backup.

Andrew Collins

2009 regular season games: 10

Probably doesn't play a huge part in their new midfield, so fantasy coaches may want to pick other players as Collins isn't the bargain he was a year ago.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 10h, 18p, 4m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Daniel Connors

2009 regular season games: 2

He has made VFL games more exciting in recent years, and maybe able to help AFL fantasy teams if the new coach at Richmond decides to play Connors every game. He could produce some interesting stats, flying for contested marks and kicking some goals, and he won't need huge totals to make money as his starting price is very low.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 5h, 12p, 4m. 10 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Trent Cotchin

2009 regular season games: 10

Injured too often for fantasy coaches to get a lot of use out of so far in his career, Cotchin is healthy this preseason so he is definitely a candidate to be one of the best fantasy steals.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 10h, 20p, 5m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Ben Cousins

2009 regular season games: 15

Doesn't bring a lot of value for money to fantasy games this season, and if the new coach is doing the sensible thing for Richmond and giving his young players more playing time then it would make sense that some of the older ones would see their role diminish.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 10h, 19p, 3m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Matthew Dea

Not expected to do a lot this season.

Brett Deledio

2009 regular season games: 22

Has joined the top group of fantasy midfielders, with his stats, but he was more useful in the past when he was also eligible as a fantasy forward.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 13h, 25p, 5m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Shane Edwards

2009 regular season games: 15

The Tigers will need to find some pace, and they may look to Edwards to run with the ball instead of players like McMahon and King that used to do that a lot.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 9h, 16p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Mitch Farmer

2009 regular season games: 0

If he does play for Richmond he will be quickly added to fantasy teams who want to make money, and also want someone who is eligible as a fantasy midfielder and defender.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 6h, 12p, 3m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Nathan Foley

2009 regular season games: 14

The way that he plays will stop him being a great player for SuperCoach, with short and sometimes inaccurate kicks, but his totals are good for Dream Team.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 13h, 23p, 3m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Angus Graham

2009 regular season games: 16

The Tigers might change their mind several times during the season as to the players they will use in the ruck. Graham might be their top choice, at the moment.

Projected 2010 Statistics
3k, 7h, 10p, 4m, 18ho. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ben Griffiths

The big forwards new to AFL don't normally provide a lot of help to fantasy AFL teams, that is probably the case with him this year.

Dylan Grimes

New Grimey probably doesn't bring in the stats that Old Grimey does at Melbourne, but he has the potential to be a good fantasy player in the future due to his height and running ability.

Tom Hislop

It still looks like Richmond are trying to change him into a small forward, and it probably isn't working. There isn't a spot in the middle for him there, so fantasy coaches probably don't want him.

Daniel Jackson

2009 regular season games: 22

One of those tagging players who then starts getting a lot more of the ball, like J McVeigh in Sydney. Jackson does give away twice as many frees as he gets, so that isn't helpful to his fantasy score.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 10h, 22p, 4m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jake King

When he started his AFL career King was a favourite of fantasy coaches who had grabbed him at a bargain price, now he doesn't have many fans.

Dustin Martin

2009 regular season games: 0

Should be one of the most useful first-year players for fantasy teams. Like Cunnington at North Melbourne, Martin was a very high draft choice who joins a struggling team that doesn't have a great midfield. Martin would be expected to play every game this season. Fantasy teams can use him as quick money on the bench, and then sell him when he peaks. Or keep him around all year as a productive emergency midfielder when he needs to start for the fantasy team. Or, and this would save a lot of money when building the fantasy team, put him in as the midfield starter for round 1.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 8h, 17p, 3m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Luke McGuane

2009 regular season games: 22

Doesn't really bring anything special for fantasy teams, he won't have huge stats in the Richmodn back line.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 7h, 13p, 5m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jordan McMahon

The days of Coach Wallace letting him run wild and accumulate fantasy points must be over, and for fantasy coaches he is far too expensive to take a risk with.

Kelvin Moore

2009 regular season games: 19

He may be able to do a bit more for stats, so see what the new coach does with him. His fantasy price makes him a player to consider getting, he should at least be worth the cost and may make a bit of money.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 5h, 12p, 4m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Mitch Morton

2009 regular season games: 21

A very talented player, when he has everything working he is automatic from anywhere inside 50m and on any angle. Made money last season, so there isn't a lot of possibility of him making more this time.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 6h, 15p, 6m. 42 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Robin Nahas

2009 regular season games: 19

Was great for fantasy teams last year, and now that he means you don't want him, unless you think he has the ability to increase his stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 5h, 14p, 3m. 30 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ben Nason

One preseason game and one injury. At least it showed that there was a chance that Richmond would select him to play during the season. Might be someone cheap to trade for later when you sell an investment from the fantasy back line.

Chris Newman

2009 regular season games: 21

One of the best kicks in the AFL so he is among the top SuperCoach defenders, his totals are good too so he also helps Dream Teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 7h, 21p, 4m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Dean Polo

2009 regular season games: 21

Seemed to find a lot more playing time last year, that may not be as prevalent this time as Richmond need to see what their younger players can do. There is little upside with Polo for fantasy AFL, with his opening price too much to sign him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 10h, 16p, 4m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Jayden Post

2009 regular season games: 7

Was a mobile, marking player for Richmond and also a money-maker and useful emergency player for fantasy coaches in 2009. Might be able to increase his stats in some areas, maybe not enough to give him a starting spot in a fantasy back line.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 6h, 12p, 5m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Alex Rance

2009 regular season games: 15

As long as Richmond figure out he is a running player from the back line, and not a key position player, his stats should be good.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 9h, 16p, 4m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Jack Riewoldt

2009 regular season games: 20

Had a good jump in price last year, may not have peaked in value yet but he can't do a lot more.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 4h, 13p, 6m. 40 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Troy Simmonds

2009 regular season games: 11

Obviously not the future there, might not really be the present either, so a risky choice for fantasy teams as you don't know how many games he will get.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 5h, 10p, 3m, 10ho. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down.

Richard Tambling

2009 regular season games: 20

There were times last year when he played a lot better than he ever had, and his fantasy coaches would have been happy with his numbers. It is unlikely that he will improve on his stats from last year, so there is little reason for fantasy coaches to sign him again.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 8h, 20p, 6m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Troy Taylor

Would be listed among the fantasy players to avoid.

Adam Thomson

An example showing that not all players who go to a new club improve their stats. Did very little in his two games last year, but gets a chance to do more with a new coach this time.

Will Thursfield

2009 regular season games: 13

Not going to bring in stats if he does play.

Projected 2010 Statistics
3k, 5h, 8p, 3m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Shane Tuck

2009 regular season games: 19

The probably play him but in a lesser role, so fantasy coaches may want to not pick him this seaosn as there is plenty of uncertainty about how Richmond will use him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 13h, 22p, 4m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Tyrone Vickery

2009 regular season games: 9

Looks to be a value for money player for the ruck in fantasy teams. The Tigers need to play him, and all their youth, and Vickery can be used by the Tigers as a forward or ruckman.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 7h, 11p, 3m, 10ho. 20 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Jeromey Webberley

Wouldn't be expected to do much this year, although with the Tigers starting again there is a chance that nearly all players will get a chance to play during the season.

Matthew White

Provides some run for the Tigers but can be a bit difficult for fantasy teams to have. His disposal accuracy isn't the best and he doesn't seem like someone the Tigers will select every week.

Rookies

Pat Contin

Could be the right type of player that the new coach there wants on the field, so maybe he does get a few games this year.

Alroy Gilligan

Now sit right back, Gilligan is someone who might play if Nahas and a few other smalls are out.

David Gourdis

A few of their tall defenders go down and maybe Gourdis will be needed. While he is cheap he is not at the very cheapest price other rookies are.

Robert Hicks

Probably someone Richmond will develop in the VFL for a couple of years.

Jamie O'Reilly

O'Reilly won't be a factor this year for Richmond.

Graham Polak

Should play a good number of games, might be better to see how he goes and then trade for him after two games.

Relton Roberts

The Tigers may need something extra up forward so Roberts could be more likely to play than most of the other rookies at Richmond.

Nicholas Westhoff

A relative of the Power Hoffs, so he is tall and skinny. Won't be close to a game for a while.

New
David Astbury, Andrew Browne (elevated rookie), Matthew Dea, Mitch Farmer, Ben Griffiths, Dylan Grimes, Dustin Martin, Robin Nahas (elevated rookie), Ben Nason, Troy Taylor, Jeromey Webberley
Rookie List: Pat Contin, Robert Hicks, Jamie O'Reilly, Graham Polak, Relton Roberts, Nicholas Westhoff

Gone
Joel Bowden, Nathan G. Brown, Mark Coughlan, Cleve Hughes, Kane Johnson, Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls, Adam Pattison, Kayne Pettifer, Graham Polak, Dean Putt, Andrew Raines, Matthew Richardson , Jay Schulz

St Kilda

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

David Armitage

2009 regular season games: 3

He isn't cheap in fantasy games, but he can get stats when the Saints play him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 7h, 18p, 4m. 12 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Steven Baker

2009 regular season games: 21

Provided a small amount of financial improvement last season, so he wasn't a bad choice for those who signed him then, but he will never be a fantasy star and isn't going to help fantasy teams a lot this season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 7h, 13p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jason Blake

2009 regular season games: 22

The days of him being a fantasy ruckman are over, so there is no need to sign him as his stats will probably be at the same level or even a bit lower than last season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 8h, 17p, 6m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Paul Cahill

Developing tall that wouldn't be close to playing a lot.

Raphael Clarke

There is only one Clarke there now, he isn't a bargain and has never been a star so he doesn't have a lot of value for fantasy teams.

Nick Dal Santo

2009 regular season games: 21

May not be worth the big money at the start of the fantasy season, but there could be a time during the season when he is more affordable.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 11h, 25p, 3m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Zac Dawson

2009 regular season games: 20

An unexpected fantasy star last year, when his starting price in 2009 is considered, and as he is a lot more to buy this time fantasy coaches won't want him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 7h, 12p, 5m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Sean Dempster

2009 regular season games: 8

A player the Saints use for a negative task, so while he is often around the ball he doesn't have it himself.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 5h, 10p, 3m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Robert Eddy

2009 regular season games: 8

Fantasy coaches can't sign him as they never know if he will be playing AFL or VFL.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 6h, 12p, 4m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Sam Fisher

2009 regular season games: 21

The totals he brings in for Dream Team are good, and in SuperCoach he can be better as he is an expert kick and can mark a lot of opposition kicks.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 9h, 23p, 8m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Michael Gardiner

2009 regular season games: 17

Did have a huge game against Geelong, but it was during the regular season. May not appear in as many games for 2010 as McEvoy could push him out of the side.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 4h, 8p, 3m, 14ho. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Jarryn Geary

2009 regular season games: 15

One of several Saints that can bring in quality numbers but they don't have a regular spot in the St Kilda side.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 7h, 16p, 4m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Sam Gilbert

2009 regular season games: 19

Stats are higher in the back line for Gilbert, but if the Saints try to improve their forward line they may move him there.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 8h, 21p, 7m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brendon Goddard

2009 regular season games: 21

Could be a defender or midfielder for the Saints, and can get a lot of stats in either spot.

Projected 2010 Statistics
15k, 12h, 27p, 6m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jason Gram

2009 regular season games: 21

Fantasy coaches have to decide, he may be a fantasy bargain or he could annoy the coach there and see his playing time go down.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 8h, 22p, 5m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

James Gwilt

2009 regular season games: 15

He can help the Saints when a forward or defender is out, might not be a lot of help to fantasy teams at his price.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 6h, 12p, 4m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Lenny Hayes

2009 regular season games: 19

One of the best players in the centre, and tackles and contested possessions increase his fantasy points numbers.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 15h, 28p, 4m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Nick Heyne

Could be someone that helps the Saints and fantasy teams, but Coach Lyon has to pick him to debut first. He has the ability to play around half forward, getting marks and a few goals.

Will Johnson

With some solid games in the VFL, he has shown he is ready for the AFL if needed, but the Saints probably don't need him in 2010.

Clinton Jones

2009 regular season games: 21

His numbers over the past two seasons have hit a plateau and he can't do anything more for stats while concentrating so much on stopping his opponent every game.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 10h, 17p, 3m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Steven King

2009 regular season games: 16

Getting to the end of his career and few fantasy coaches will want to sign him now.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 4h, 8p, 2m, 15ho. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Justin Koschitzke

2009 regular season games: 20

Could be used in the fantasy ruck but now this time. The only way his stats could have a huge jump was if Riewoldt missed games.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 3h, 11p, 6m. 44 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Andrew Lovett

The Saints were not smart when they traded for him, and any fantasy coach that has him in their team might need to be investigated for tanking.

Tom Lynch

Should at least play a game or two for the Saints this year, and maybe injuries to players like Gilbert and Gwilt could open up a lot more playing time.

Ben McEvoy

2009 regular season games: 11

Must be a big chance to play a lot more, if he gets mainly ruck minutes then he could help more in Dream Team by increasing his total possessions and hitouts, if they play him forward more then his contested marking ability could help him increase his SuperCoach numbers and value.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 6h, 10p, 4m, 13ho. 14 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Andrew McQualter

2009 regular season games: 21

The Saints went out and acquired players to use in his spot, so fantasy coaches may want to rethink their plan of buying him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 7h, 12p, 2m. 14 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Luke Miles

An elevated rookie so the Saints do like him, but few fantasy coaches will as there are many better cheap midfield options.

Stephen Milne

2009 regular season games: 20

A silly and selfish player, although the selfish part keeps his fantasy score up as he kicks for goal when he has the chance. Doesn't really bring a lot of value for fantasy teams, at his current price.

Projected 2010 Statistics
k, h, p, m. goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Leigh Montagna

2009 regular season games: 21

Can't do more than he did last year for possessions, but he could help his fantasy numbers with better accuracy when kicking for goal and giving away fewer frees.

Projected 2010 Statistics
15k, 11h, 26p, 5m. 12 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Adam Pattison

Insurance for the Saints in case one of their veteran ruckmen goes down or maybe he could help up forward if Koschitzke misses. Even when he was getting playing time at Richmond he was just a borderline fantasy player, so it is unlikely that fantasy coaches will sign him this year.

Brett Peake

2009 regular season games: 18

Joins a very deep team so getting a regular game will not be easy, but there is a chance that during the season he could be a player to acquire for fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 3m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Farren Ray

2009 regular season games: 22

Many fantasy coaches and fans of the Bulldogs were shocked by how many game he played and by how many stats he had in 2009. At a much higher fantasy price this year, he is probably not a good fantasy option.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 10h, 22p, 4m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Nick Riewoldt

2009 regular season games: 21

He is a great marking player, who will often play under a roof if the weather isn't great, and there is a midfield at the Saints that will produce a huge supply of the football, so his marks totals will always be good. His kicking for goal has been a tad inconsistent over the years, but that could be behind him now and there may even be a chance for St Kilda fans to run onto the ground as 100 goals for the season isn't impossible for him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 5h, 18p, 10m. 88 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Adam Schneider

2009 regular season games: 21

Can't do a lot more than he has been, so worth his fantasy price but don't expect anything extra.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 5m. 35 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Alistair Smith

May not be expected to debut for the Saints in 2010.

Jesse W Smith

Not cheap enough in fantasy to store on your bench, so forget about him now but if he plays two exciting games during the season he would be someone to trade for.

Rhys Stanley

May have won the Grand Final Sprint, so that showed his mobility in the ruck. Likely to continue his development in the VFL during 2010. Could be a fantasy player for the future, as a ruckman or forward.

Jack Steven

2009 regular season games: 1

A player who may need a couple of injuries to the St Kilda midfield to become a fantasy bargain during the season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 6h, 15p, 3m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Nicholas Winmar

A great name, and he plays a game that could bring in a variety of fantasy stats, but the Saints won't be playing him a lot in 2010.

Rookies

Jarryd Allen

He has retired, so won't be on fantasy teams unless people decide to press the button to fill in their team with random players.

Daniel Archer

He is a big player, so he isn't like other key position prospects who need more bulk, but there isn't a real chance of him getting any games this year.

Leigh Fisher

A long, long time ago he was always picked by the Saints, and people used to refer to "The Fishers" at St Kilda. Now he is far from a game, and fantasy coaches would not be expecting L Fisher to play this season.

Steven Gaertner

Probably not going to be this year's Zac Dawson, but if the Saints do need to find a tall defender to play from the rookie list they may try Gaertner.

Mark Hutchings

Might have the ability to bring in stats if he does play, with some contested possessions for SuperCoach and Fox Sports Fantasy AFL, but for the Saints to need rookies in their team something unthinkable would have to happen.

Blake McGrath

Must be several years away.

Tom Simpkin

Depth for the back line, although the Saints have many players ahead of him there.

Tommy Walsh

The Saints say he is worth a first round pick in the National Draft, with his talent level and athletic ability, so there may be a time during the season that he does play.

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

Ed Barlow

2009 regular season games: 14

Goodes said Barlow was as good as himself, but not yet, and fantasy coaches won't want Barlow as much as in other years as he is only a fantasy midfielder.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 6h, `6p, 4m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Paul Bevan

2009 regular season games: 19

Has not really elevated his game for several years, but this time he may be able to do a bit more for stats as some of the players who were similar to him, like Buchanan and L Ablett, are not there now.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 8h, 16p, 5m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Craig Bird

2009 regular season games: 15

There was a chance he would have a bigger role this year, but the addition of McGlynn and Kennedy means more competition for a spot in the middle.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 8h, 15p, 3m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Craig Bolton

2009 regular season games: 20

Expect his stats to go down gradually as he is in the later part of his career. An undersized key defender who relied on athleticism, he may start giving away a few more free kicks and that would hurt fantasy points.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Jude Bolton

2009 regular season games: 22

As the team transitions to a new era, and soon a new coach, he could be one of the veterans that has a slightly smaller role.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 11h, 20p, 3m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Daniel Bradshaw

2009 regular season games: 19

Kicked plenty of goals when a lot of the passes to the forward line were directed to J Brown, should get a few more as the number 1 target in a forward line that is now without Hall and O'Loughlin. May not be ready for round 1 due to injury.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 3h, 13p, 7m. 75 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Daniel Currie

Has taken the slow career progression path that many ruckmen do, but now could be when he plays, but just a small amount of games. Obviously is behind the ruckmen they acquired in trade, but an injury or one of them losing form and Currie could get his chance.

Trent Dennis-Lane

2009 regular season games: 0

Has been a consistent goal-kicked at WAFL level and should play a lot of games for the Swans, a team that needs help up forward. Very cheap in fantasy games, so he will be on a lot of benches to start the year and could also be a fantasy starter on some teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 4h, 12p, 3m. 25 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Adam Goodes

2009 regular season games: 22

Expected to play forward more this season, but will still run around enough to get a lot of possessions.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 6h, 14p, 6m. 44 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Heath Grundy

2009 regular season games: 22

Has now established himself as a member of their back line. The smaller players there will get all the stats, so fantasy coaches won't need Grundy at his current price.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 6m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Dan Hannebery

Played last year when the Swans went looking for run, but may not be in the side as much in 2010 as the Swans added needed run with their early draft choices.

Campbell Heath

Seems to be far from a game at the moment.

Kieren Jack

2009 regular season games: 22

As a negative onballer he may have reached the peak for his possible stats.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 7h, 15p, 2m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Lewis Jetta

2009 regular season games: 0

Could play a lot of games, and has a low fantasy price, he would be on more fantasy teams if he was eligible as a forward but is still a good option for midfield bench spot.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 3h, 11p, 3m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Lewis Johnston

2009 regular season games: 0

Might have been a must-have fantasy player this season if Bradshaw didn't arrive for the Sydney full forward position. Johnston will get a chance to play, but probably a small number of games only.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 2h, 8p, 3m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Josh P. Kennedy

2009 regular season games: 10

A surprise departure from Hawthorn, he must be expecting more games and more minutes per game to move clubs.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 11h, 18p, 3m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Tadhg Kennelly

2009 regular season games: 0

Made it difficult for fantasy coaches when his arm kept falling out of his shoulder, a year away from the AFL may have been helpful to his body. His fantasy price should be helpful too, and he will be on a lot of fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 8h, 18p, 4m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Brett Kirk

2009 regular season games: 22

Will still get plenty of tackles and handballs, but maybe his fantasy points average will dip a little bit.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 13h, 20p, 2m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Nick Malceski

2009 regular season games: 12

Was terrible last year for fantasy teams, that could mean that an improved Malceski at a much cheaper fantasy price will help the fantasy teams he hurt a year ago.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 7h, 18p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Martin Mattner

2009 regular season games: 22

Great in his first year at Sydney, lost some fantasy value last year, so this year he will be worth his price or may be a tiny bit undervalued.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 7h, 17p, 4m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ben McGlynn

2009 regular season games: 16

Still a bird, going from a Hawk to a Swan. Can get fantasy points in the middle or up forward, should increase some of his stats this season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 9h, 20p, 5m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Jarrad McVeigh

2009 regular season games: 18

Probably won't do more than he has for stats in the past couple of seasons, although he has the ability to kick a few more goals.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 10h, 21p, 3m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brett Meredith

2009 regular season games: 7

His fantasy price is low, but his playing time is uncertain.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 7h, 13p, 3m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Jarred Moore

2009 regular season games: 16

Numbers went down from those he had in 2008, and he may not be able to get back to that level this season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 7h, 14p, 2m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Shane Mumford

2009 regular season games: 18

Expected to have more minutes after leaving Geelong for Sydney. A shorter ruckman who works at ground level, Mumford might be better for SuperCoach with his contested possessions.

Projected 2010 Statistics
3k, 8h, 11p, 3m, 18ho. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Matt O'Dwyer

Wasn't very impressive in the few games he played in 2009. One of many Sydney smalls who could be out of the side most of the time, or lift their game and become a regular player.

Ryan O'Keefe

2009 regular season games: 22

Moved into the midfield and had a lot of disposals and tackles, is once again eligible as a fantasy forward which makes him a very useful player to own.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 9h, 22p, 5m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Sam Reid

Not likely to play this year, but he does play in a position where the Swans could need some help.

Ted Richards

2009 regular season games: 16

A good and unspectacular player for the Swans, not a lot of upside for fantasy teams right now.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 8h, 16p, 5m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Lewis Roberts-Thomson

2009 regular season games: 21

Had a good price increase last year, so this year he may stay at the same price or even drop a bit.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 7h, 15p, 6m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Gary Rohan

2009 regular season games: 0

A fantasy forward and midfielder, a good option for a fantasy bench spot in the forward line. Fast, taller than most think, and has an accurate kick, if the Swans play him he will make money for fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 3m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Mark Seaby

2009 regular season games: 5

AFL fans finally get to see if he is a good player, or just someone who was a passenger on the Eagles as Dean Cox led the way in the ruck. Seaby does have ability, and should work well with the Swans if he can also go forward and get a few goals.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 8h, 12p, 4m, 17ho. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Rhyce Shaw

2009 regular season games: 22

Shouldn't lose many stats with Kennelly returning to Sydney, but also wouldn't be expected to increase his numbers again so he isn't a player for fantasy teams in 2010.

Projected 2010 Statistics
15k, 7h, 22p, 4m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Byron Sumner

Their other draft picks could be more likely to play than he is.

Nick Smith

Was a solid player when the Swans brought him into the lineup, but with a trade wit Hawthorn bringing in a couple of smalls and their draft also adding that type of player there may not be a lot of playing time for Smith this year.

Kristin Thornton

His name sounds like something out of Melrose Place. He did play more games last year than people would think he did, but he didn't produce stats.

Patrick Veszpremi

2009 regular season games: 4

Maybe this is the year he consistently plays, and plays at a high level. Does have the ability to kick a lot of goals, and if he does that he could double in price.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 4h, 12p, 4m. 16 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Jesse White

2009 regular season games: 18

With Bradshaw playing beside him, White could improve his numbers as he may not have the best defender against him which did happen in some games last year.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 4h, 10p, 5m. 28 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Rookies

Taylor Gilchrist

Will need more time to develop before being ready for AFL, unlikely to play this season.

Nathan Gordon

Would find it difficult to get games this season.

Chris McKaigue

Their Irish system didn't work last year but Kennelly returning could help get McKaigue trained to play AFL more successfully than their recent Irish players.

Dylan McNeil

A rookie who would probably be very good for stats and make a lot of money in fantasy AFL, but for him to get that playing time the Swans would need to lose five or six of their other small, chunky onballers.

Jake Orreal

A big project player, does have some potential but that isn't useful to fantasy coaches right now.

Henry Playfair

Still around, moving from their senior to their rookie list. Has been battling injuries, if he does overcome them and a few forwards at the Swans are hit with injuries then he may play and could double or even triple in price. But that is an unlikely scenario.

Mike Pyke

The best thing about him did seem to be his rhyming names, until he helped fantasy teams as a very cheap 4th fantasy ruckman who played 8 games. His fantasy price is higher now, the Swans have more ruckmen to choose from, he won't be helping fantasy teams this season.

New
Daniel Bradshaw, Trent Dennis-Lane, Lewis Jetta, Josh P. Kennedy, Ben McGlynn, Shane Mumford, Gary Rohan, Sam Reid, Mark Seaby, Byron Sumner, Kristin Thornton (elevated rookie)
Rookie List: Nathan Gordon, Chris McKaigue, Dylan McNeil, Henry Playfair

Gone
Luke Ablett, Leo Barry, Ryan Brabazon, Amon Buchanan, Jared Crouch, Nic Fosdike, Barry Hall, Darren Jolly, Matthew Laidlaw, Daniel O'Keefe, Michael O'Loughlin, Henry Playfair, Tim Schmidt

West Coast

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

Mitchell Brown

2009 regular season games: 19

Probably the Eagles' swingman, taking a spot up forward one game and then in the back line the next. It doesn't seem that he has the potential for the stats that Hunter used to get doing that.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 7h, 14p, 4m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Sam Butler

2009 regular season games: 16

Over his injury problems, Butler is someone to watch but maybe he can't go up in value and stats much more.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 7h, 16p, 4m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Dean Cox

2009 regular season games: 13

The play of Naitanui will change Cox's stats, the possessions and hitouts may decrease a small amount but there is also the chance of Cox going forward more and that could mean more goals.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 11h, 20p, 5m, 23ho. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Bradd Dalziell

2009 regular season games: 8

There is the possibility of him playing like he did in his first AFL season, but several things would haev to go his way for that to happen. First, he would need to cement a spot in the West Coast side. Then he would have to have the easy half back role with a lot of possessions, and that may not be available with Embley, Hurn the Selwoods and Butler there.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 9h, 18p, 5m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brad Ebert

2009 regular season games: 17

Can bring in more fantasy points with a small increase in possessions and a large increase in goals. Both are possible, and if LeCras is moving into the middle more then maybe they use Ebert up forward when that happens.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 9h, 18p, 4m. 20 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Andrew Embley

2009 regular season games: 21

Was one of the top fantasy defenders, now is one of many quality fantasy midfielders as his position designation has been changed in fantasy games.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 8h, 22p, 5m. 18 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Darren Glass

2009 regular season games: 22

A full back who goes for the spoil, Glass doesn't have any upside in fantasy AFL.

Projected 2010 Statistics
3k, 9h, 12p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ashley Hansen

There was a time when he was a key part of their side but he has lost something now. It would seem he won't be needed unless Kennedy or Lynch, or maybe both them at the same time, are out with injuies.

Tim Houlihan

Has the running ability, and the space at Subiaco suited to that, to become a quality fantasy player but hasn't achieved it yet. He may be the new Staker there, showing potential to really help fantasy teams but never quite getting there.

Shannon Hurn

2009 regular season games: 22

Elevated his game, which was expected, but maybe took a year or two more than fantasy coaches thought. May be able to do more for fantasy teams if put in the middle by West Coast, but they seem happy with him in the back line.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 7h, 20p, 5m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brett Jones

Was indispensable a while back for the Eagles, now is rarely seen and when he has played his stats have been very low.

Jordan Jones

There doesn't seem to be an available spot for him, although maybe he has the game to develop into an Adam Hunter-type of player.

Josh J. Kennedy

2009 regular season games: 16

Is still a young key forward and can improve for a few more years. Must be a guaranteed selection for the Eagles now, and a safe pick for fantasy teams as his price is not high.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 5h, 14p, 7m. 44 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Daniel Kerr

2009 regular season games: 11

His price keeps dropping in fantasy games, he may be too cheap to ignore this season. Can have problems with taggers and his temper, and injuries too, so there are reasons to go with a safer pick in the middle.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 13h, 21p, 2m. 14 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Mark LeCras

2009 regular season games: 21

Was still kicking goals but also got into the middle for more possessions.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 5h, 15p, 4m. 54 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Quinten Lynch

2009 regular season games: 22

Possessions are expected to go down a lot, and goals are expected to go up a lot. That could mean a similar amount of fantasy points.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 6m. 44 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Eric Mackenzie

2009 regular season games: 16

Does well for the Eagles at centre half back but his stats haven't been anything that fantasy coaches have noticed. Should be able to get a few more possessions, for that to happen Brown and Wilkes may need to be out of the side, allowing Mackenzie to settle in the back line.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 7h, 13p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Chris Masten

2009 regular season games: 19

2009 was a season of two halves, a disappointment for fantasy teams in the early rounds, and much better for stats towards the end of the season. Should increase his numbers again, so he is looking like a fantasy bargain. With Fletcher and Stenglein out of the team, that means available midfield minutes and Masten will get a lot of them.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 13h, 24p, 3m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Patrick McGinnity

Famous for getting injured, sort of, doesn't seem to present much value for fantasy coaches but he could find his way into the side like how McNamara and R Davis once did.

Ben McKinley

2009 regular season games: 17

Will kick a few goals, but with Lynch back at full forward and a ruckman spending time up forward too there won't be a big role available for McKinley.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 3h, 11p, 4m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Nicholas Naitanui

2009 regular season games: 10

His stats will go up this season, so he is a good signing, it will just depend on how the Eagles use him as to how big of a leap his stats take. With more possessions, goals, hitouts and tackles, Naitanui could be the most productive fantasy ruckman who is the number 2 ruckman at his AFL club, and if Dean Cox misses games then Naitanui could be one of the most productive of all fantasy ruckmen then.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 10h, 14p, 3m, 18ho. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Ryan Neates

Unless injuries hit the Eagles, Neates wouldn't be expected to play.

Mark Nicoski

2009 regular season games: 13

At his price he could be someone to have on a fantasy team, one problem with him in recent years was that his role was sometimes harmful to fantasy stats, but if the Eagles let him run free on the wing he may star.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 6h, 15p, 3m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Tony Notte

Was drafted as a tall, skinny, athletic full forward project and he is probably still at that level.

Matt Priddis

2009 regular season games: 20

Handballs and tackles, lots of them. Does have a big price, so it may be better to sign a star fantasy onballer who kicks a bit more, or tow wait for during the season when Priddis may be more affordable.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 16h, 26p, 3m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Matt Rosa

2009 regular season games: 22

Quietly goes about his business accumulating the ball. May not be able to do a lot more, and in SuperCoach a lot of what he does in uncontested so his numbers don't get as high as they would if he played more in the action.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 11h, 22p, 5m. 8 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Will Schofield

Hard to see him playing a lot of games, but if he does he would reward his fantasy coaches as his opening price is very affordable.

Adam Selwood

2009 regular season games: 21

A big increase last season, might not be able to maintain the same level. Like all the other Selwoods, gets many more frees than he gives up.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 11h, 21p, 4m. 6 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Scott Selwood

2009 regular season games: 14

Probably plays more games in 2010, may not increase his averages a lot.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 9h, 17p, 4m. 2 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brad Sheppard

2009 regular season games: 0

Wirrpanda leaving means there are 20 possessions a game available, so there is a spot there where Sheppard could play and be very helpful to fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 5h, 13p, 3m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Luke Shuey

Might be a bit too injury-prone for fantasy coaches to get right now, and the Eagles don't have a spot for him yet too.

Ashley Smith

The Eagles have plenty of midfielders and small defenders ahead of him, so he probably sees little action this year.

Matthew Spangher

2009 regular season games: 11

Spangher had a good price rise last year, something he may not do again.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 7h, 14p, 4m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Koby Stevens

Could be a draft steal by the Eagles, but might need a year or two before he is someone that fantasy teams are signing.

Tom Swift

2009 regular season games: 10

May not be a huge bargain in fantasy AFL, but does look a but undervalued.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 10h, 19p, 5m. 12 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Beau Waters

2009 regular season games: 0

Has not been healthy for a while, when he does play he will be someone for fantasy coaches to think about trading for. He should at least double in value.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 7h, 14p, 3m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Gerrick Weedon

The Eagles do need someone new up forward, so they may give him a chance this season. Not a player that should be on fantasy rosters to start the year.

Beau Wilkes

2009 regular season games: 3

His fantasy price has gone backwards, which means he would be worth having if he again become a regular player for them.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 8h, 14p, 6m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Rookies

Lewis Broome

Probably not close to playing AFL yet, but he is a small forward and the Eagles may need help there.

Adam Cockie

Little, hustling player who made some money for fantasy teams last season, that price rise means he won't be useful this time.

Ashton Hams

Could bring in stats but might be far from a game with players like Dalziell and Butler ahead of him on the depth chart for smaller defenders.

Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls

JON increased his SuperCoach value just a tad from last year, which means he is around twice the cost of most other rookie-listed players, and he isn't expected to play a lot in 2010.

Lewis Stevenson

Has been around the Eagles for several years, so maybe he will be like Wilkes and take a while to play but then become a useful player.

Andrew Strijk

Another small defender or midfielder and the Eagles have a lot of depth there.

Will Sullivan

The Eagles have star ruckmen, but not a lot of ruck depth, so he is only two injuries away from playing.

Callum Wilson

Has shown he can play at full forward in the AFL, but will probably need several tall Eagles to be injured for him to play again. He isn't a cheap rookie for fantasy teams due to playing last season.

Player Profiles and 2010 Projected Statistics

Dylan Addison

2009 regular season games: 12

Maybe Picken has taken over his role, and Addison will have a difficult time finding another spot in the team every week.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 7h, 13p, 3m. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jason Akermanis

2009 regular season games: 21

The Bulldogs have scared fantasy coaches away from Akermanis, and B Johnson, by saying they could rest veteran players and maybe they do this year. With Hall arriving, it would be expected that Akermanis would have the ball passed to him less, and that would likely mean less shots on goal.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 7h, 17p, 4m. 30 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Jarrad Boumann

Was far from AFL level when he was drafted, and doesn't seem much closer to it now. Unlikely to help fantasy teams.

Matthew Boyd

2009 regular season games: 22

Gets a lot of the ball and now has a huge fantasy price.

Projected 2010 Statistics
11k, 15h, 26p, 4m. 12 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Tim Callan

2009 regular season games: 1

The Bulldogs will turn to him when they need more strength and determination in the back line, fantasy coaches may not want him although he is cheap.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 3m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Adam Cooney

2009 regular season games: 20

More kicks and more goals could result in a better fantasy average this season. He is fitter now than he was for a lot of last season, so he could be a wise investment for fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 13h, 27p, 5m. 30 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Ayce Cordy

The idea at the Bulldogs might be that Cordy is their future tall forward and Roughead is their future ruckman, although both players have the ability to play in both positions. An injury to Hall, or Minson, could mean Cordy plays a few games.

Daniel Cross

2009 regular season games: 20

Has talked about wanting to kick more but it hasn't happened, and probably never will. He could still be worth adding to fantasy teams as he is probably over some injuries he had last season, and that may help him perform a bit better.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 18h, 26p, 5m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Nathan Eagleton

2009 regular season games: 22

Has to be on the downward part of his career for stats, so fantasy coaches may want to avoid him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 6h, 16p, 4m. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Andrejs Everitt

2009 regular season games: 7

He could really explode for stats but there isn't a position there at the Bulldogs that is open. An injury or two could get him that spot, and then he would be someone to trade for.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 6h, 13p, 4m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Daniel Giansiracusa

2009 regular season games: 15

Will be worth his price, might do a lot more if Johnson or Akermanis were out.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 8h, 21p, 5m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Lindsay Gilbee

2009 regular season games: 21

Might have a good price in fantasy games this year, and is a reliable fantasy player who kicks the ball often and accurately.

Projected 2010 Statistics
15k, 7h, 22p, 5m. 25 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Jarrad Grant

For such a high pick, his kicking is very poor. Not a good choice for fantasy teams right now.

Ryan Griffen

2009 regular season games: 19

Can annoy fantasy coaches when they watch him with some exciting plays during the game and then his fantasy numbers are not great. He isn't a bad fantasy midfield choice, there are just better options around his price.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 10h, 23p, 4m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Mitch Hahn

2009 regular season games: 22

He was often what the Bulldogs had as their power forward target, Hall is there now. Hahn will still be productive but it may not be a good move to start the season with him on your roster, wait and see the numbers he has before trading for him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
7k, 5h, 12p, 4m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Barry Hall

2009 regular season games: 11

Antyhing can happen here, so fantasy coaches have to accept that when they sign him they could be getting a fantasy steal or a TKO.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 5h, 14p, 7m. 60 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Jarrod Harbrow

2009 regular season games: 20

The perfect AFL position change to improve a player's fantasy worth, he went from being a small forward off the bench at the Bulldogs to being a small, running defender who spent a lot more time out on the ground. This year, he probably stays at the same level for stats, and won't increase his numbers.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 8h, 20p, 4m. 3 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Ryan Hargrave

2009 regular season games: 20

Opposition teams may start paying more attention to him, using a defensive forward against him, and that could hold his stats down a bit sometimes.

Projected 2010 Statistics
14k, 9h, 23p, 6m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Shaun Higgins

2009 regular season games: 17

He was the player everyone wanted last year, and that worked well as he doubled his value in fantasy games due to a lot of goals and possessions. There is little room for improvement this season, so he will be on a lot fewer fantasy teams this year.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 10h, 22p, 5m. 30 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Josh Hill

2009 regular season games: 22

May have to really fight for a spot in the side this year. His fantasy value has levelled off, so there are few reasons to sign him at his current price.

Projected 2010 Statistics
9k, 6h, 15p, 4m. 28 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Christian Howard

A lot of people questioned this draft pick by the Bulldogs, and fantasy coaches won't be thinking he is a good pickup this season for fantasy teams.

Ben Hudson

2009 regular season games: 21

An undersized, handballing ruckman who is past his best for fantasy numbers.

Projected 2010 Statistics
3k, 9h, 12p, 3m, 15ho. 5 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Brad Johnson

2009 regular season games: 22

With Hall at full forward it probably means fewer goals for Johnson, and at his age he isn't the best choice for fantasy teams.

Projected 2010 Statistics
12k, 7h, 19p, 6m. 33 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Liam Jones

A young tall forward who won't be asked to do a lot this year, might be a fantasy option in the future.

Brian Lake

2009 regular season games: 22

Adequate in Dream Team, can put some big scores together for SuperCoach when he gets contested marks from opposition kicks.

Projected 2010 Statistics
10k, 7h, 17p, 7m. 1 goal.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Lukas Markovic

Comes from the VFL and might be the only draftee the Bulldogs have who is ready to contribute in 2010. If he does play during the season, he would make a good amount of money for fantasy teams.

Will Minson

2009 regular season games: 22

Likely to spend less time up forward with Hall arriving, so the only way he will have a big fantasy points increase is if Hudson is out.

Projected 2010 Statistics
4k, 7h, 11p, 3m, 15ho. 11 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Down!

Dale Morris

2009 regular season games: 22

Someone in the back line there has to have low stats and it is usually Morris.

Projected 2010 Statistics
5k, 7h, 12p, 5m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

James Mulligan

A giant player who seemed to have a future as a full forward but has been turned into a full back by the Bulldogs. An injury to Harris would get him very close to a game.

Robert Murphy

2009 regular season games: 13

His stats and fantasy value have been a bit of a rollercoaster in recent years, with injuries interrupting his seasons. His price is down again, so if his stats are about to go up again it is time to sign him.

Projected 2010 Statistics
13k, 6h, 19p, 8m. 22 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Liam Picken

2009 regular season games: 20

Stays close to his opponent during games as the Bulldogs main tagger, he can limit the stats of his opponent and he is unlikely to increase his own numbers this season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
6k, 8h, 14p, 2m. 4 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Sam Reid

Has always seemed a bit, maybe lazy is the right word, and doesn't seem to play at a high enough level to be considered by the Bulldogs for regular games.

Jordan Roughead

May not be a bad choice for a 4th ruckman, with Skipper and Wight out of there the Bulldogs don't have a lot of ruck depth. Hudson or Minson go down, it could be Roughead who plays but even then his minutes would not be great.

Brennan Stack

Was given a small number of games last year, might again appear in a small number of games in 2010.

Shane Thorne

Not someone that fantasy teams will want to sign.

Stephen Tiller

Has been tried in many spots on the field but hasn't really found a position yet, too risky for fantasy teams as he could play a few games and then be in the VFL for a few months.

Jason Tutt

One of their many surprising draft picks, and the Bulldogs have already said they don't expect most of them to play in 2010.

Callan Ward

2009 regular season games: 19

Spot isn't safe in the side with Addison, Everitt, Wood and Hill others there who can play in his position.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 8h, 16p, 3m. 15 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Same.

Tom Williams

2009 regular season games: 14

Might be the most injury-prone player in the AFL, fantasy coaches will still give him a chance this year in their sides as he is cheap and could be at centre half back for the Bulldogs all season.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 6h, 14p, 5m. 0 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Easton Wood

2009 regular season games: 2

It won't be easy for him to find a spot in the team on a regular basis but if he does then he is cheap in fantasy games.

Projected 2010 Statistics
8k, 5h, 13p, 4m. 9 goals.

2010 fantasy stats change from 2009: Up!

Rookies

Jamason Daniels

They kept him on the rookie list, delisting three others, so that must mean they see something in him but for fantasy AFL he isn't likely to play this year.

Andrew Hooper

The right type of player, a little back pocket, to be ready to help fantasy teams but a spot for him in the Bulldogs side probably doesn't appear during the season.

Brodie Moles

Has already had somewhat of a long career in the VFL, compared to most rookies, so if the Bulldogs do need to play him he is ready.

Matthew Panos

If they didn't get Hall he would be a lot closer to a game, someone to watch for in future years. A forward with skills, someone to watch for in the VFL.

Eddie Prato

A tall project, if he does play AFL it could be several years away, but he can help a fantasy team that is looking to spend the minimum on their 4th fantasy ruckman.

Patrick Rose

Would probably be very useful for stats, and a nice value rise, if he did play but for that to happen the Bulldogs would need to have many of their other small forwards out of the side.

New
Barry Hall, Christian Howard, Lukas Markovic, James Mulligan (elevated rookie), Liam Picken (elevated rookie), Shane Thorne, Jason Tutt
Rookie List: Andrew Hooper, Brodie Moles, Matthew Panos, Eddie Prato, Patrick Rose
