Barry Hall - 4 goals, 9 kicks, 9 marks
Could have easily had 6 or 7 goals as he was in a sharing mood and gave some goals to his new teammates. He is healthy and putting up fantasy scores and his price isn't big so he is a player to consider signing, but fantasy coaches also know the risks and have to decide if he is worth it. Right now, it looks like he will be worth it.
Lindsay Gilbee - 20 possessions
Played forward early in the game and that isn't where he gets his stats, went back to his usual role and played much better. That was probably just a small preseason experiment and fantasy coaches who sign him will see him in the back half with a lot of the ball during the regular season.
Mitchell Banner - 15 possessions, 5 tackles, 1 goal
There are many cheap fantasy onballers to go through and pick a couple for the bench and maybe one or two to start, and Banner could be selected by quite a lot of fantasy coaches. He has produced stats in every preseason game, and should be there when the Power pick their round 1 team.
Danyle Pearce - 17 possessions, 8 tackles, 1 goal
AFL clubs and fantasy coaches know that Pearce can be stopped by a tagger, and he had to deal with Picken in this game and didn't have it easy. Considering the close attention, those numbers are not bad when compared to his fantasy price.
Notes:
Moles had 18 possessions and would have increased his chances of a round 1 game for the Bulldogs, he has a very low fantasy price. Murphy looks like he will have a big year, playing the Michael O'Loughlin small centre half forward role with Hall at full forward. Roughead was again very active, he might be one of the better 4th ruck choices for fantasy teams as he is just one injury or suspension to Minson or Hudson from playing. Addison, Everitt and Wood probably haven't done enough to convince the Bulldogs to select them every week, but maybe Williams has as he can do a number of different things for them in the back line, Williams has a low fantasy price for a defender who could play every week. With Schulz out, D Stewart kicked 3 goals and may still be an option for a fantasy forward bench spot. Gray, with 21 possessions and 2 goals, showed he could be the player to do what S Burgoyne used to do there. Fantasy coaches were hoping the backup ruckman at the Power would help them this season, that may not be the case. Maybe they just play Brogan and give Westhoff a few minutes when Brogan needs a break.
