Fantasy Defenders - On The Up

There is not a lot of value in rookie defenders this year but there are some players returning from injury and a few others.

Jack Grimes $392,300
Is expensive but has been tagged by the Melbourne coach for a move into the middle which would enhance his scoring capability. Has been in good from throughout the pre-season and is on my dream team.

Luke Hodge $366,800
A must have player. Is a great fantasy player and a lot of coaches would have him.

Michael Hurley $273,300
Would have been someone in my team but now that he is suspended we will have to wait and see how his form is come round 4. Maybe someone to downgrade to later.

Courtenay Dempsey $266,000
Had a great year last year and has the potential to take it up another level. Worth considering come round 1 teams.

Clancee Pearce $246,600
Is still a rookie however has been in great form in the pre-season and is almost a certainty to be upgraded. But is slightly expensive. Wait and see how he goes the first few games.

Nick Malceski $242,800
Had a bad year last year but has proven before he is a good fantasy player and is worth looking at for your team.

Andrejs Everitt $237,300
Could breakout this year certainly has the talent but just hasnt proven it yet. Will movep to the wing and get more fantasy points. see how his from is early in the season.

Lachie Henderson $226,000
At a new club has big shoes to fill just needs to find his spot in the team. Watch him and see how he goes as his pre-season form has been ok but nothing amazing.

Tadgh Kennelly $204,700
Coming back to the AFL and is still as good as ever and is extremely fit and healthy. Definitely worth having.

Jay Nash $202,100
At a new club worth watching for but hasnt cemented a place in the side so probably not worth having.

Simon Buckley $193,300
Gets a second chance at his new club Collingwood and could be a good player to pick up but his form has been extremely poor pre-season and is now probably no good having.

Rick Ladson $185,100
Worth looking at if he is fit but always seems to get injured.

Ryan Schoenmakers $181,800
Could definitely be a handy player but there are better options.

Josh Hunt $164,100
Coming back from a knee injury is a massive bargain this year and would be on most fantasy teams.

Beau Waters $152,800
Injuries the past few years but is a good player when fit and like hunt would be on most teams or being considered.

Andrew Moore $125,500
Is a cheap defender and could be handy for a bench option early in the season.

Matt Maguire $101,700
Is a massive bargain if he plays which he should do a lot of. Cheap and great value.

Phil Davis $94,500
Cheap bench option who should play a lot.

Jordan Lisle $94,500
Bench option could be good but havnt seen enough of him.

Jackson Trengove $94,500
Could play a bit this year as a defender/ruckman for the power as backup to Brogan.

Alex Silvagni $77,800
Cheap as you get if upgraded is definately worth getting on your team as he will make quick money.
